Police in capital ships

I don't really think my local police officer would get in a tank if some bad guys some how showed up with a tank...

Not the first time, but your police wouldn't be doing their if gang bangers in tanks started showing up two three times a day to have their way with you, and the police showed up in smart cars to watch.

Also, as I said, police need something that can stop and destroy smugglers, that's a bomber or GB, not an LF.

I think the lawfuls should have a DEA like agency thats goal is to stop smugglers and that it should be a branch of the police. If we are talking Liberty here maybe a joint effort btw the LPI and LSF. No ships bigger than a gunboat so that the lawfuls could chase the smugglers into asteroid fields and what not. Maybe even some undercover cops (tho IDK how that would work.)

If gangs kept showing up with heavy armor then the Military would be sent to wage war on them. Still not a police function.

I somewhat agree that Police should have access to bombers but perhaps SHFs instead to handle bigger targets. A bomber is really a military item as is a GB.

Perhaps in some cases where there isn't a strong line between police and military, but in most houses the police would deal with them because that's the job of the police, just like irl where police arm up with armored vehicles, heavier firepower, swat teams, etc... rather than calling in the military every time they are outgunned.

The military handle external threats, the police handle internal ones.

Just a bump really, problems gettig more out of hand, was chased by three dreads, a battlecruiser, 2 cruisers, 2 bombers, and a light fighter... Outran them but it was scary.

The 522nd shouldnt even be able to exist... the little rebel battlegroup in all realism would have died by a thousand factors, so, really, 3 battleships and we win over liberty? My sense of humour must be somewhat lacking there.
