I've been planning to setup an Outcast pilot, but there's only one problem: plethora of choices.

101st
SOB
RoS
BLS (I haven't seen these online though)

The choice is even more difficult since I see pretty regularly members of these factions online during my gaming.

Could you guys give me an info packet or throw me a sales pitch? Are there major differences? I read from the 101st faction feedback that's it's back on track and Outcasts are already one big happy family.

Flying under radar.

SOB= Militia of sorts, the loose nut in the clockwork, we trade, we smuggle, we raid, we train, we pirate, we play!

Not an outcast myself, but I've always had really good interactions with the RoS in my time here. They'd be my reccomendation.

As an outcast myself I would recommend any of them really. I am a member of the SOB so i am predjudiced. however the others are all great players RoS have some of the best pilots anywhere as do the 101st and both will help you get set up and show you the ropes if you need it. BLS is going through a tough time with leadership changes and not many members playing but i think most outcast players would hate to see them die out so hopefully an infusion of new members would bring them back. The SOB are a fun bunch some of them i have gamed with for years and are a great group of players. Some of us are from another game where we are part of a squad and own our own server for BlackHawk Down an old Nova Logic game that is still a lot of fun.
So either way you go you should be able to have some fun as an outcast.

Try all three. I was once a member of RoS, and still affiliated as indie, but have found all three to be great comrades in-arms.:)

My apologies, BLS, they are also excellent comrades, just woke up, hehehe

I think you know which one I'm going to recommend...the 101st are the oldest and most conservative of the lot. We prefer a very militaristic approach, and RP as a dedicated navy, spending most of our time policing Outcast space and interdicting vagrant Corsairs, BHG and IMG. Special Commerce Interdiction and Supply missions are sometimes undertaken on a pilots own initiative, assuming they don't cause any trouble or start any wars. We try to hold our pilots to a very high RP standard; OOC in-system is very frowned upon, and RP stories are highly encouraged. Outcast Guard tags are a required, so be prepared to do a lot of repping. Ship choice is generally limited to Borderworlds/Outcast with very few exceptions, as is loadout.

We have a black hole![/shameless advertising]

ok from someone who is not biased by being in one of these factions already:

BLS: Mostly Smugglers. Could be fun.
RoS: Genetically enhanced Powerrangers - Read their background story and turn away in disgust.
SOB: Meatshields - Being a SOB brings a rather ... special reputation - dont do it.
101st: Outcasts.

Ah, 101st keep close to home base. Do you venture to Liberty or other houses at all?

I'm not a pvp seeker. I'll rather talk. RPing opportunities in Liberty would be a welcome change of pace of edge world I've-got-a-freakishly-bigger-ship-than-you mentality.

And I'm planning to setup a Sabre and maybe Falcata, but nothing bigger.

Flying under radar.
