So, I'm planning a character to take advantage of the Vigilante ID in 4.85. For those not 'in the know', the Vigilante is basically a quasi-lawful Terrorist, who can KoS just about any unlawful or smuggler he comes across, but is severely restricted in other ways (can only use civilian fighters or bombers, can only land on BHG, Zoner and IMG bases, and many lawful police/militaries treat them as unlawful and may KoS).

I'm planning on flying an Eagle VHF, and I'm looking for loadout suggestions from people with more experience in fighter pirating/terrorism. I figure that without a CD, I'd never have time to drop a trader's shield, much less truly threaten them... But without a Mini-Razor, will I have any chance to take on a heavily-armored smuggler and hope for anything more than a stalemate? Am I doomed to get a civvie bomber instead of my lovely Eagle?

Primary targets would be smugglers of cardamine and slaves, with little care for artifacts except for the fact that they directly fund the Corsairs, and completely unconcerned with synth mary or counterfeit software. Might be interested in hampering the trade of certain other 4.85 commodities, but I'll have to wait and see what Kuraine and Xoria have come up with.

Being not-useless in fighter-vs-fighter combat (well, not any more useless than I already am) would also be a plus.

Thanks folks.

Mmm... sorry, if you're after transports you -need- a CD. Against transports you'll definitely need two Debilitators (I'd suggest Tizonas, but you're against pirates). Against Transports, I'd say your best bet would be 2 Imp Debilitators and 4 Codenames (may I suggest 2 Guardians and 2 Archangels), with a CD. The Eagle may not like it, power-wise, but it's the best I can think up. Using the sexy Civilian bomber would be a lot better against transports, though.

What Zapp said, except, if you are not planning on fighting other fighters, I would get 4 Archangels.

Also, get a Prometheus over the Guardians.

Anything I say is not intended as offensive, and to try and deliberately misinterpret it as such would be an attempt at trolling via misrepresentation.

It's not a conspiracy, it's localised bias. They're not intelligent enough to form a conspiracy.

Good advice.

Mmm, thanks for the advice. Seeing how I'll primarily be targeting smuggler transports, I guess the civvie bomber would be my best bet... Just out of curiosity, as far as bombers go, how does the civvie bomber stack up? I seem to recall hearing that there's some current problem with it, which may be fixed in 4.85?

In 4.85 it's gonna be amazing and bug-free, not to mention sexy (seriously, that thing is smoking).

I just mentioned the Guardians cuz I have basically the same setup on a Sabre, and Archangels and Guardians mesh rather nicely, visually.

I killed a Percheron with two Debs and Sammaels, so I think anything will actually work for you as long as you have a Train CD.
