hmmm if the chain guns do cause lagg i would be happy to nerf them a bit but other wise i really love them they way they are lol. super fast and its fun to watch an NPC's helth slide downwards instead of disapreaing in blocky chunks lol

Well, they don't need to be removed, just players should be carefull using them.

As a good example, a RavenClaw, with all mixed chainguns, and a Adv Battlestar with all solaris turrets fought for about a minute, and the lag was so bad that it crashed the server, this was back in 4.80

In a dogfight with a friend of mine, we tested switching on and off his chainguns. After about 2 minutes of fighting with normal guns, he switched to chains and the lag appeared. I didnt show yellow, but he was warping around like he was on dial up. We both have relativly fast connections too, so perhaps even just 2 chain guns can cause issues.

Interesting one, and something to consider. If less than one or two small groups of
people are there it seems ok. Lag seems to appear when there are more.
May just be co-incidence, but another thought in the mix ...

That two, when theres large gatherings in one system it lags horribly, as evidence when 9 people where chasing the pearl in Tau-31, there where 10 people in one system and the sever lagged up to 25,000 ping, and when everyone left, its settled back down.
