Sirs of the counsil.
I am Roadrunner, Jupiter Guild Elite Trade wing Commander
I bring you the following
Today the [\JG/]Fionia(IC) was lost in Gamma.
She was onroute to Planet Crete with Food Pharmacutical and light arms as descriped, in the statement from Corsair Counsil.
The ship was Approced by a Indie Corsair named Freefalcon who did not give a darn, and as Captain Harrington of The ship did not want to pay a tax to deliver Much needed supplyes to the people on crete, the ship was destroyed with its cargo.
The Crew of 5 was saved by Chico_Benitez and brought to medical care planet side.
1 crew member is in a really bad shape but we cross our fingers that she will make it.
The crew list
Captain= Harrington
engineer= Cech
Astronavigator= Larson
loadmaster= Runnels
comm officer= Knight
Astronavigator Sara Larson is the one in a bad medical state.
On behalf of the Jupiter Guild we would like to express our thanks to Chico for his swift rescue of the Crew.
Not only do it sadden me to loose a ship, but when one of my employes get severly wounded and thousened of innocent people looses food and pharmacutials due to 1 gunboat commander?s ignorense and greed, i get outraged. We have been flying supplyes to Crete for over a year, and nothing like this have ever happend.
Untill the Corsair Counsil can guarantee our safety when we fly supplyes to Crete,
All JG ships have had the scheduled deliveries to Gamma Canselled.
I am not a native English Speaker, so i make grammar errors.
But it annoys me when people make silly comments about that... especially brits who for the most part can't speak their own language let alone anyone elses!
The holographic transmission of the Jupiter Guild commander died, and concerned whispering ensued in the council chamber.
Carlos spoke.
"For the past year our nation has received much needed supplies from the Jupiter Guild shipping wing. For Zoners, they are the most generous and co-operative I have come across, and I might even go so far as to say that they are among the most honourable of our non-blood associates.
We cannot stand by as rogue elements within selfishly endanger the prosperity of our nation, and the populous of Crete. Almost as disturbing, the actions of this individual, had it not been for the efforts of mi hermano Chico, would have lead to the blood of 5 valuable associates lying on our hands.
All to often, we commanders may focus too much on our battles, and wars with other empires, but I tell you today that the situation we find ourselves in due to this irresponsibe pilot's actions could be far more significant.
If we lose humanitarian shipments from the Jupiter Guild, who, very reasonably, have suspended their activities in our territory in order to ensure the safety of their pilots, then starvation, or worse, could ensue."
A number of the elders mumbled to eachother nervously.
"To avoid such repercussions, it may be necessary for the nation to once again divert it's efforts into the acquisition of food and supplies, which could lead to our enemies gaining the upper hand in ongoing conflicts, and could also lead to the developments in Omicron-94 and Omicron-91 being delayed."
A number of elders in the Brotherhood and Benitez wings of the chamber sat up in their seats, and their expressions turned decidedly more severe.
"We must prove to the Jupiter Guild, and the rest of the Zoners, that pilots running supply shipments into Gamma will be safe. To do this, the captain of the gunboat, who's actions lead to this crisis, must be brought to justice.
Our JG friend has made the case against this individual very clear. It is up to us to ensure that he is made an example of, so that no such crisis will ever happen again. "
Carlos sat down, and awaited a response from the rest of the Council.
Miguel stepped up, raising his voice so all in the chamber could hear him. "Carlos, it concerns me that we have a call to bring this Corsair to justice without even attempting to hear this Corsair Captains version of events. I am concerned that we are accepting the word of an outsider without even attempting to find out the truth of the story. I would suggest we find this Capitan and bring him before the council to determine what it was that happened." Miguel walked over to the Bar and picked up a bottle and glass, pouring the former into the latter, he took a long sip. "Carlos hermano, this Capitan may be wrong as he is suspected of being, yet, I feel we should not assume that from the word of others." With that Miguel returned to his seat to sip lightly on his drink.
"Not just an outsider, amigo" retorted Carlos.
"My hermano Chico corroborates his story. What's more, I am told the navigator on the ship that was attacked, has passed away due to injuries. We now have the death of a Zoner on our hands. Our diplomacy with the Zoner corporation as a whole is now at stake.
Also, hermano, do not overlook the importance of carefully chosen words. The captain must be brought to justice, but justice does not mean he is to be presumed guilty. Justice requires a fair trial.
So, yes hermano, I do believe that the testimony of the Jupiter Guild should be sufficient grounds to bring the captain to justice. He should be made to answer the charge."
Miguel continued to sip lightly on his drink, closing his eyes, he thought for a moment before responding. "Indeed Hermano, we must find this Capitan and ascertain truth of the matter in this case. I suggest we send out a message to our Captains in the field to extend our most non-negotiable invitation to this Freefalcon to appear before us." Miguel stood and walked to the front of the table. "Hermanos, any objections to putting a warrant for appearance on the Capitan of the M26 Freefalcon?"
Jose had listened to the statement made by the representative of the JG with a certain amount of disbelief. Surely no one would have been stupid enough to attack a trade ship bringing such important trade goods to Crete?
On the face of it someone really had been that stupid.
Jose waited for Miguel to finish making his proposal that the captain of the Freefalcon be issued with a non-negotiable request to explain himself before the Council.
Once Miguel had returned to his seat, Jose stood to speak. "Whilst the JG have in the past proven themselves to be honourable, they are not Corsairs. I would not wish to see a Corsair condemned simply on the say so of non-Corsairs, no matter how reliable they have proven themselves to be in the past".
"I agree with Miguel that we do need to hear from Freefalcon, but that in some ways perhaps it is more important to hear from Senor Chico Benitez? After all he is a well respected Corsair, and it appears he witnessed the entire event".
Jose surveyed the faces of the other Corsair elders. "With your permission, I'd like to obtain a written deposition from Senor Chico Benitez and to submit it to this Council?"
Having made his point, Jose sat back down wondering why he hadn't thought to get a drink before the start of this session......

There was a dull murmur from inside the Chamber as Elders discussed recent affairs and the problems besetting the Corsair Empire. A small green light began to flash on on of the many computer terminals, indicating a message had been received. There was a small beep, followed by a message scrolling onto the screen.

Hola senors, I bring this matter before you in order to receive authorisation for the changes a desision will produce.
Hermano Custo' Benitez gave me the comms address for this channel after reviewing the following messages. In short Cryer Pharmaceuticals, a Libertonian corporation wishes to move a base into our sovereign territory - the Research Centre Valdez. Our dealings with this group have always been fruitful in the past (Cryer being famous for the production of Synthetic Marijuana) as well as help against Outcasts operating near their bases.
We share a common enemy in the form of the Outcasts, something I am sure we can turn to our advantage. For example jobs and bounties offered against the Outcasts from the Station's job board. I have been lead to believe the station will operate on a Freeport basis, ave a few important details: Firstly Outcasts will be denied docking rights and secondsly we will be allowed to base of the station for attacks, something the Zoners have never been fond of.
I hope this transmission has not been a waste of time and a answer will be given promptly.
respectfully

' Wrote:This is Evan Cryer commander and director of experimental operations on Valdez Research Station. Because of Valdez's semi mobile operations that is currently located in Omicron Theta; I believe we need to come to an understanding to ensure the safety of the station in it's duration there and other territories with a corsair presence in the near future.
Information on the station can be found in the link i've uploaded here
Now the terms are that the research station is not attacked, taxed, threatened or hassled by the corsairs. And in return the station will maintain a freeport status, allowing corsairs and allies to restock, refuel and purchase what equipment they may need as well as advanced weaponry. Corsairs will also be able to fulfil missions from the station that can be found here for generous rewards. The station has also opted against the Outcasts and ill supply Corsairs as a Base of operations if an organised attack is planned. HOWEVER the station will NOT be moved from it's current moored position for the Corsairs Accord.
As described in the link i've posted, the stations zone of interest is mainly edge world systems and border world systems. The research station WILL NOT approach Crete or Tripoli when it passes through Omicron Gamma on it's way to Atka in Sigma 17. And even this will be on a rare occasion.
What do you say?

This is Emily-Jane Cryer, CEO of Cryer Pharmecuticals, the above scientist has my full support. I too hope our relationship with the corsairs will take a turn for the better, for both of our sakes.
I anxiously await your response

Hola senor and senorita. I cannot claim to be an Elder that can reliably represent the Corsair nation, however, I will support this move. A base in the Sigmas or Taus away from the prying eyes of Zoners would be a good opportunity for advancing our presence in the area.
As for our relations with your organisation, Cryer, they have been amiable as far, Si? Your actions against the Outcasts has been a great boon to the Empire, especially seeing as your security divisions have been intercepting Cardimine shipments.
A establishment of the size you are talking about may well raise tensions with some of my more conservative hermanos and hermanas, but over all, I believe you would cause more help than harm. As for these missions, I will look into them. Personally I have no desire to have any trace of Cardimine present on my ships, but I am sure there are others that could supply you with the... narcotic.
I myself commandeer a supply runner however, so I will easily be able to supply you with any needed Artifacts. Nomad matter may be harder to obtain however, especialy Superior Nomad Brains...
I trust you wish for this matter to be dealt with... discretely? I highly doubt your parent House, 'Liberty' would find such an agreement agreeable. I will take your case to hermano Custo' Benitez, who may be able to present the propasition to the Council and Senate.
Miguel looked up from his terminal. "A Cryer facility in Theta huh?" Looking down Sephardi noticed that his galss was empty. "That is not good," he thought to himself. "Anyway, I dont see what it matters to us, as long as they dont want our active protection, why not let them do thier research?"
Asno cleared his throat, his hatred of Hunters overcoming his relative silence throughout this meeting;
"I agree with you there Sephardi, but I think we need more information regarding this research ship's allegiances, or we might find ourselves with yet another base that Bounty Hunters could base out of, too close to home... The man says he'll help us against Outcasts, but I'm eager to hear what their stance is towards our other enemies before we let them setup a base."
Whoa yeah. A station full of weed that hates Casts. i want some of that for sure. They have my blessing and a guarantee of many nights of party time from many members of the OPG. Of course should they fail to live up to our expectations they will no doubt be subjected to the torture of discom dopification as we haul their entrails out on a goddam board. Well thats my bit said on that matter.
More significantly. Freefalcon. Had he attacked an OTC vessel how would I have responded? Kill on sight would have been too good. So the question remains how should OPG deal with him now. Kill on Sight. As ordered so it shall be I await no further action or response from freefalcon who has dishonoured our people and clearly has no idea who he serves.
