What style of combat do you prefer?

Big battleships can intimidate people into leaving.

I intimidated a corsair gunboat harvester and a bomber into leaving the simga 13 hole on the berlin side:)

Little tiny witty iddy biddy battleships cant do much in that sector.

Well, personally I think I am crap in fighters (I hate these)
Bombers... somewhat good (I hate these with a passion - I just do)
Gunboats... somewhat good (not my style)
Cruisers... slightly better than with gb/bombers (too small for my liking)
Battle cruisers... bad in these... (weird, sucky cross-breed between BB and CC, not on my taste, too small)
Battleships... average in `em (this is the ship class I like most though)

For those who knows me, they know that I suck in pvp bigtime:D

For me, Bombers ftw (I got the 9 kill message in a falcata... my 15 kills don't count because I was using a *spits* red cat).

Fighters, I can beat most people, and a few of the best if I reaaaaally put effort into it.

GBs - Never lost a GB vs GB fight in one recently, and I've fought Jura and many others recently

Cruisers - Hate them , don't have agility, and don't have the firepower

Bc - Back in the days, when I had an LN one, I was somewhat good in these.

BS - Average, I rely on the shiny cap 8 armours to keep me alive

I love my slippy despite its crappy power supply, but I am torn between it and the Varyag because of how simply delicious that cruiser is.

It has to be bombers and fighters for me.

Even though i've lost much of my skill since the transition to 4.84, I'm still handy enough to cause some damage in them. I usually fair better in bombers due to their insta-kill traits, but it is now truely impossible to kill someone who knows how to fly in a fighter. I usually fight other highly skilled players instead of less experienced ones, so my kill ratio is now quite average, though i've long given up on maintaining it.

Fighters will have to be my chosen ship choice at present. Bombers are a tad too heavy for taking out the best, so fighters are the only craft I have a chance in.

Im glad to see that the fighting quality on the server has improved vastly since 4.83. Many good pilots have developed into exemplary ones. Edge-minator hasn't lost his touch in battleships ("average" my backside...) and the tier of highly skilled pilots is continuing to grow.

My favourites of the two classes are:

Fighter: Ravenclaw. ( Eight guns, six of which could be magma hammers.. )

Bomber: Rheinland bomber. ( To be expected, right? )

As to styles of combat, considering the title of the thread, I think my prefered style is direct and concentrates on damage output, more so in my aim than my choice of weapons.

Also have two DW BS kills and a DW Dessie kill to my name. (the other BS died to Tabris' GB)

all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.

Least favorite: Bomber, Supercap

For me, bombers are simply too sluggish for combat, and I won't fly a supercap since they don't have a thruster. I love my fighter, but I will say this....


Nothing gets quite as fun as a multi-capital furball, in an asteroid field.

i've tried to like the fighter class, but everytime i go back to it i'm reminded why i dislike it.

i love my Destroyer, i feel quite at home with it.

i can't wait to fly my GB around (still waiting on the co-wrote RP story to be finished, then i can fly it)

no experience with anything bigger than my Destroyer though
