OK, I can see the reasoning for not having Guard missions, but for those of use trying to LOWER our rep with a faction, can we have more depots? Ever tried to kill Bounty Hunter Guard NPCs in a Large Transport?

I dont think it is possible to remove the effect of the zoner bribe on the zoner gaurd rep.

As I understant the rep system, a bribe adds a positive value to a given factions relation to you. When that relation rises the reputation of thier allies and enimies raise or lower based on a empathy modifier. This is the same modifier that affects the rep when you kill NPC's in game. IE. shoot at rouges and your liberty lawful and xeno reps rise while you hacker and outcast reps decline.

If the zoner gaurds empathy for normal zoners is removed it will make it impossible to influence unless a bribe is created specifically for the zoner gaurds or admin edit. I have not yet read anything about this kind of rep change on the forum so I think this is purely a rumour someone started.

Be careful who you listen to when it comes to things being added in the next verison. Not even those of us with access to the dev forums know everything.

it all depends. in 4.85 I hear it will be required that capships have a gaurd rep. However the definition of cap ship varies. in some instances they are defined as gunboat, destroyer, and BS. No GS should require gaurd rep IMHO and i think the rule is for destro and BS. destroyers and battleships kill much faster so if no gaurd rep will be needed for GS's then gaurd mission would be less of a requirement. If you will need gaurd rep for guboats then gaurd missions will become almost a requirement as it would take sooooo much longer to get the rep you need.

Actually I was wondering about that. I know if you do missions with someone else, you get the credit too. I didn't know if it works when killing NPCs as a group if it lowers BOTH of your reps .

Guard rep will be required for ALL capital ships above the level of gunboat in 4.85, and you will of course be required to get the appropriate Guard ID also. Anything above the level of gunboat basically means destroyers, cruisers, battlecruisers, battleships etc.

I will add, however, that it would be interesting to have difficult high-level, high-cash missions given in guard systems. Just make it so that the rep needed to get those missions is 100% guard. That way, it's just another perk of being a guard.

I just read through the thread again and Thexare Blademoon suggested the same thing. Go figure.

Great idea, lets do it one better, perhaps even make some of them so difficult it would take a whole group of ships to complete one. Trying to do one "solo" in ANY ship would be absolute suicide. But not so far that you need a full fleet either. Makes them sorta like co-op missions. 1,000,000+ if possible.

IE: Want the capship? Then you do guard missions led by a "trainer" until you have the rep and can afford it. By then they will have proved themselves in combat and given the "controlling" factions a chance to see if they are capable/responsible or not. *forced forum registration* becomes *willingly joined in-game training*..... This even works for the indys i believe, factions gain thier bit of control, while indys have the option to stay indy or join the official faction after thier training/trial period..... (Missions from Crete anyone?) muahahahaha... Some of the most fun ive had on this server is leading/doing/giving in-rp missions from Crete with any Corsair willing to join the group. With 2-3 or more ships even the hardest missions you can find get to be waaaay too easy and quick though.

I also agree with what was being said about killing Nomads should raise Order and or Zoner rep and possibly even lower Outcast rep. Killing Wilde should raise Rheinland Military more than Order i think.

More depots for all would be nice too.

So, Devs, aynthing on the Zoner Gaurd rep stuff yet? Because i have to get it again for my zoner juggy

(FYI, If you see [ZF]VAL-Marvin in 4.85, please dont bug me about my rep, Im fixing it:)
