I'm curious why people are ignoring what Hoodlum is saying. In all 3 of his posts he was crystal clear about the reasons. If you guys go re-read his posts instead of just glancing over them, it should become clear to y'all too...If it doesn't: try reading them again & again 'till it does.

I ran into these two in Omega-3 (Corsair and Hacker) IFF was messed up (Can't remember what on whom)
They were shooting at a trader and they ceased when I showed up.
I hailed them, but they flew off. One replied: "He does not speak English".
Well . . . You do!
So I do not buy this "No spreken de English" stuff.
I gave credits to the new trader and did not bother with those two as they flew toward Corsair space rather fast.
Another player (Claims he is Russian) with Nomad weps doing about the same. Maybe the same player as the Hacker. I'll be more attentive in obtaining details if they hassle people again and don't bolt so quick.
Banning them is the correct thing to do. No matter what language you speak . . . if everyone is yelling at you not to do what you are doing, then you should stop and think. Also, One is an English speaking interpreter, so diplomatic immunity does not apply.
My 2 cents.
Call me elitist, but it is an english roleplaying server...how you gonna get involved in my RP if you don't speak english?
If I meet someone who even starts talking about concepts that my character dosn't know about (met someone talking about "the server" today), my character is gonna wonder what the hell this guy is on about, and possibly think them insane.
If you can't communicate with the rest of the server...what's your Rp gonna be? someone with no comms?

French:
Si vous ne parlez pas anglais, allez ailleurs.
S'il vous plait.
French (Quebecer):
Non, y'a pas de lois 101 icitte. D?sol?.
Chinese (simplified pinying):
DiscoveryRP xu yao ni hue shuo ying weng. Ni yao shi bu hue ying yu, bie lai zhe li.
Discovery RP needs you to know how to speak English, if you dont know how, dont come here.
Right Xing?:) - PS - WHO is that in your Avatar??!
I used to be one of the "be nice" and lets help the non english speakers out kinda guys on the forums, having worked in a multi-lingual environment the last 3 years i sympathize with these people.
However - im now 100% with Xing and Hoodlum here, This is an English Language server, if you cannot speak rudimentary English that allows you to interact with the players here in some kind of meaningful way then you should not come here, End of Story.
Im also against broadcasting in the game in other languages... for Hoodlums reasoning is sound - English is the language on the server and thats it, full stop.
Help someone in game in PM if you can by all means if you can - but "I no good English" is becoming pretty tiresome as an excuse for Rule Infractions.......
guys, maybe we could just edit the rules in another language. I speak russian and can write the rules in russian, so russians understand the rules. The thing is that many people are using russian patches in game and they don't really need to communicate with others. Would any admin be so kind to give me permission to write russian rules please.

I'm definitely in agreement with this sentiment. That being said, not everyone has the same level of proficiency, which is why I try and avoid having my characters speak with an accent for the most part. Sometimes it can be hard for someone who natively speaks English to understand, so it seems it'd be even worse for those who aren't.

Following rules is only one aspect of this. Role-playing requires an ability to interact with others.
