Sometime I feel the NPC are a bit too harsh. But there alway a way to deal with them.
The only issue I had with them is the one near Berlin jump hole in sigma-13 , (Lv18 Wild VHF I think), Or the Sabre with Inferno in Orkney. But I think its normal to have stronger NPC in edge worlds for various reasons.

Look, houses space NPC are just background, they dont even make transport's shield lose power;. on the other hand, a trader or any explorer is taking a risk when venturing in deep space. Thats the point in the NPC strength.

Wow! is that true?

Learn something almost everyday.

Yes I'd agree with you the NPCs are brutal in some areas. And like Ian said those Wilds at the NB/Sig13 jump hole will womp you quick like.

One thing I've seen no one mention and kinda surprised is go in a group. Best bet for the brutal NPCs is for them to have to spread their fire among 2-3 ships. Makes it much easier to deal with.

Or shoot pay a single fighter for escort. They can scout and handle even tough NPCs enough for you to slip by. Long as they aren't total crap pilots.

Patience is something you admire in the car behind you, but not in the one in front.

Actually if they are totally crap pilots they can still keep the NPC's busy while you just fly on.

Get escort(s).
Or F1 on the NPCs while in full thrust, if you're that desperate. Just make sure no other players are around you.

You do realize that the omicrons isn't candy land btw, right?
