It can't be 'cured' in the sense of the word. Its an addiction. They can go cold-turkey or slowly downgrade the amount of Cardi they take on a regular basis until they take none at all. Its treated like any other drug. However, what he is saying is that no Corsair would ever take Cardamine. Thats why GC never have to worry about spies. Corsairs won't take it, plus they are hispanic. The KSP officers cannot take Cardi legally, whether undercover or not, so they cannot ever become a GC.

Ingame? What makes you think that? I'm simply slagging the idea off because i, note: I, belive that what he did was wrongful and shows how long he's willing to go to get what he wants.

His ingame behaviour is without compare, but you can't make a decision like this based on that.

Hey, c'mon, he tried hard with that spy RP. I know that other people have made false forum accounts and spy characters before, including some Outcast players, who apparently find this wrong.

Dab: But it wasn't a Corsair. It was a Kusari girl who was already in GC once, went through detox then was sent over once again. Link to story:

Actually, that's what you -should- judge a potential admin by, IMO. I voted yes, because from what I've seen he seems like a very level-headed person. Good luck anyways.

So why are you?

He is suitable for admin material. He is fair, he listens, he can get work done.
He knows disco, he's been here a reasonable amount, he's got a level head.
That "incident" is unfair to bring up because it's only your opinion on that being
powergaming, which most of us that i know of think it wasn't.

It's irrelevant to Laowai becoming admin, with the jobs of sweeping the forums,
sanctioning according to set rules, stopping hackers, checking logs, listening to disputes,
locking threads, changing reps, etc.

If you think that he would abuse his position as admin then say so, dont bring irrelevent
ingame things that were done properly but no one picked up on it things into the discussion.
As a corsair of course he's going to go to lengths for his homeworld.
But as an Admin that has nothing to do with it.

He can sucessfully separate himself from his Corsair characters, and his Admining role,
Which is something that you are not doing and not allowing him to do. You are assuming.

I'm done. My bit: Laowai for Admin.

Ladies and Gentlemen,
Those against have made your points on why you think he shouldn't get the job.
Those for have made their points as well. Lets not turn this into emotional argument rather than rational discussion.
It appears that a majority agree with the appointment. As was the case with myself and others, lets see how he does in the role. If he does well we will have gained a valuable addition to the Admin team. If he screws up it will be dealt with.

Quote:And for that one incident you want him not to be an admin. How bout this, Ben is made an admin and you get a deathray... oh yeah, you already tried that on something else and it didnt work.

I was under the impression we weren't supposed to bring things on the dev forums onto the main forums?:)

I speak for myself, not the 101st. That's Jura's job. I simply attempt to maintain my NPC faction's position, of my own accord.

Quote:Hoodlum had to leave the 101st because the rest of the faction chose to make it an issue for him, my Rogues have been smarter, knowing full well that an Admin in the faction doesn't make their lives easier only more scrutinised. Ask them what happens when they go OOC in system and I hear about it...

Jes left the faction because Tony (new guys: BULLDOGNK. Admin gone bad. Don't ask) decided he hated my guts and wanted NovaPG to go to war with the 101st. He was trying to avoid getting involved with the due course of the faction to avoid compromising his political status. We never tried to use Hoodlum as a bargaining chip or a tool of the faction; I barely ever spoke to Jes, even then.

Also, just for funsies...

I don't care about that spy. We tracked him, waited to see what he was going to do, and nothing did it. Okay, he tried to screw over my entire NPC faction, strip us of our allies, and run us into the ground. It's his job, I suppose, and I'm willing to dismiss it as proper RP (It was, after all). I just don't want to stir the kettle right now. I think Laowai as Admin, until this new mod comes out, would be that very stir. Don't mess with it until we have a game to play again.

It saddens me to see some people have turned this thread into pure non-sense over things of past with posts having no relation to the subject of the topic. Past is riddled with misunderstanding and misconceptions to many here, picking up the old furniture tells less than a new set that has replaced the old one. Is this how the community treats itself and what it became of? Makes me believe some perhaps need a wake up call of sorts. Where does this eager will to come over and spill the garbage over the forum comes from? Endless arguing over things of dubious importance. Such a narrow attitude does remind me why I keep reading the forum less and less. But I digress and should walk away as I've already expressed my opinion on the actual subject of this topic.

Does anyone want to make a list of all the admin events of getting sanctioned, before and during their appointment?

Laowai did something that wasn't even sanctionable, he RPed it out, and most of us see it as fine. How this has any bearing whatsoever on this decision is a joke.
