So, Corsairs Say Hola, but once near malta I got nearly killed for saying Hola...

They are all suppose to be hispanic. While Malta is fairly hipsanic, Crete is greek. And so are many more Corsair bases, Helenistic,...

Soooo, i've been working on an idea, to convert current Corsair language... Hola Hermano Que passa, Gracias Senor... in to an Outcast language... as it would fit. And learn some Greek words for Corsairs...

I wonder thou what all of you think on the subject, They probably should speak the same language naturaly... Do they? I don't have much experience with outcasts ever speaking hispanic...

They may've originated from the same ship, but i find it hard to belive that they'd speak the same language after centuries of being seperated.

Kinda disagree Doc,
Take Mexico & Spain for an example, There are some word differences yes, slang & all factored in, but the base of the language is still the same.

& Jure, Saying Hola in Alpha is fine, Unless ya have a Corsair tag, than you pretty much can say what ever ya want, we still gonna keel joo!!

I would think that after 800 years in Sirius, both languages would have deviated far from each other, even if they were originally the same.

That said, sorting out each's language specifics makes a lot of sense to me.

Dennis leaves out the fact that all the NPCs do, in fact, speak perfect English. At least, with the English retail version.

This is something that can't be changed... though Kusarians can speak with Japanese words, Rheinlanders with German, Corsairs and Outcasts with Spanish, I think the language must stay understandable.

I think it should be up to the Outcasts what greeting words they use, whichever ones turn out to be popular. Crafting a language never goes well ... *looks at Franglais*

Outcasts also have a fair amount of Italians in them. Both Corsairs and Outcasts are mainly Spanish/Portuguese, Corsairs also have Creek influence as you have said, while Outcasts have some Italian influence.
