DR, a pirate, walks into the casual bar unnoticed.
"hmmmm i could probly get some good money out of these people"
The pirate began to eyeball the man jumping off the counter of the bar.
"Oh well, time to go get some earnings"
DR slowly approches the tiny man........
'Well? Whaddya want? You look like the type that might know a trick or two... Ever played chase the lady?'
A pack of grubby cards with risque pictures appears from a sleeve.
'The rules are simple. Three cards, one is the Queen of Hearts, look. I shuffle 'em for a while, you point the card that you think is the Lady, and you lay 100 Credits down. I turn the card over, and if you're right, you get your 100 back, plus 100 of mine. If you're wrong, I keep your hundred. If you wanna see a second card, it'll cost ya 'nother fifty. Next round is ALWAYS double-or-quits... So, you in?'
The cards start to move, slowly at first, and then the pace picks up, the backs of the cards beginning to blur.

After a long Xeno patrol, the crew of the I.K.S. Gon'Shar secured their ship and headed for the tavern they had heard of, "The Ice Cube." Their friend had told them of it. The 5 man crew wondered what type of reception they would get as Klingons weren't always well received. Dressed in full battle armor, disruptor and dag'tagh, they entered the bar. Commander Korg was the only one with a robe on. The first officer carried a large box.
Korg and his first officer approached the bar while the other 3 crew members found a table in which they could easily watch all that went on around them. Some of the patrons stared. Some in shock that Klingons really do exist in Serious and others at just the awesome presence of their dress.
"Barkeep," said Korg as the first officer put the box on the bar, "please accept this. It is a case of Blood Wine. It is young and sweet and it is a true warrior's drink." With a nod of his head, Korg and his first officer went to join his crew at the table.
One of his men noticed the card game starting a few tables away. "Commander," he asked, "shall we join in?"
"Not right now," replied Korg. "We could use more lessons from Doc. For now, I need a drink and then some rest."
Keeping to themselves for the time, the five engaged in chat, speaking their native tongue so as not to accidentally divulge any information. They noticed the pirate in the bar and said little of him although they did find it unusual.
"You would think with Navy personnel here that he would be run off," commented the weapon's officer, again in Klingon.
"Hm," commented Korg with a head bob. "Let us sit and relax a bit and see what kind of riff raff shows up."
'They're shuffled, but are you watching for the lady?' Spacing the cards out, he says 'Well, you think you can pick the lady out? That one? Sure? Last chance to change your mind...'
The card is flipped over, revealing the Ace of Spades.
'Ahh! For shame! 100 down! You would like a chance to try to win that back, wouldn't you? As I said earlier, it's double-or-quits, so this next round'll cost ya 200, but you get 400 back, leaving you 100 up. Whaddya say?'
The card is turned over, revealing the Queen of Hearts.
'Ahh, My friend, you've done well! Here's your stake, and here is your winnings. Lets say we have another game, but seeing as you seem to be really good at this, lets make it interesting shall we? What do you say to a decent amount of stake, not the 100 buck limit I reserve for newcomers. Shall we say 2,000 a pop to start, with the double-or-quits rule still in effect?'
Shall we have a drink while you decide? As the winner of our last round, you have the honour and privilege of picking up the check....Say, why don't you open up a tab?'
'Hey, Steve? Can you open a tab for my good friend here?'
'Sure thing?'
'There you go, you're with friends now, and we look after each other. Cheers'.
