Well that torp comment was more a general statement to everyone.. I try to give helpful fighting tips when I can. And yes, I know it needs upgraded. Either make it an HF and give some agility, or make it an LF and give it ALOT of agility.

It has about the same agility as the sabre, but has less armor and bigger power supply. The power supply used on the manta is the one used on the Titan. Which is only one level higher than the Sabre. But the Sabre has better armor. I don't understand why the manta needs a nerfing given that the ship stats are about the same.

OK, here comes Nightfall on the Viper bashing case!

We were PvPing in Connecticut, and noticed weird things, then, on a mercy kill...

Shots go through from under...

from above...

he didn't take any damage from that...

These went right through except the shield...

We thought it's the close distance... increasing the distance gave pretty much the same results...

close range again, goes right through

My shield vanished! But the hull receives no damage, it registers as a hit though, I shake, I hear it hitting me, but no damage...

Conclusions:

Notice one common thing to all the screens: all the time, the shots that pass right through the hull come from the left side.
The 'top/front' issue isn't fixed (I remember being posted as a bug) the shots connect right above the hull
the right side seems to be ok except one thing -
there is a spot near the rear connecting point of the top fin and the engine that gets the hits straight to the hull (goes right through the shields) didn't take a pic of that, I exploded before I realised I didn't press 'printscreen', it's pretty much as in the last pic but on the opposite side.

One more thing: the Vengeance MK V guns. They were doing no damage whatsoever except at some 80m and/or total off target (i.e. point blank range and I shoot 'somewhere' but not the ship, one of the lasers was connecting the target and made damage).

I remember PvPing a Nephtys in 4.80 Teaboy and me in Sabres (separately) and BlackPearl.Yotogi was the Nephtys. Both of us had real trouble hitting the Nephtys past the shields, though, we never tried this as DO killed him in a matter of seconds before that in his Osiris... gonna be testing that too when I come to it...

Can i just point out that you need more practive with an LF Virus it seems like to me.

I got the sheild down on a Manta in my Chimeara, and whats more, i got it down before he got mine down (he promtly Nova'd me). Not that he isnt a good pilot, he beats me all the time in my Manta. Its just that i get enough distance to turn before he gets in range. You cant just circle a target in your LF and expect to out-turn your enemy. You gotta use tactics, not just the thruster button (which increases turning circle of your fighter)

Is the LF your useing a Scimatar?

May have come across as being in a harsh tone of voice, please dont view it that way.

I still agree though that they need nerfing (have you ever flown your LF against a Viper?).

That Viper hitboxes are wierd. Didnt i see this in the 4.80 one of these threads?

Sabre: Armor: 11200
Manta: Armor: 10600

not so much 'less', in fact with our load-outs... not a difference at all, just one codename shot, and we pack 4 of those...

Sabre: Steering: 43000 43000 60000
Manta: Steering: 48000 48000 230000

how much is the difference, I don't know how to calculate the figure?

Sabre: Angular: 41000 41000 41000
Manta: Angular: 41000 41000 141000

is this 4000 more in favor of the Manta? it seems so.

put aside the figures. you've played the game. you piloted both fighters. you turn super-fast and all. but someone in a Sabre owns you or gets in your tail... (Quote Kristina Pryde) it's not the stats of the ship, it's the skill of the pilot (end Quote).

McNeo, do I have to draw it? You're comparing to the wrong ship! And nerfing down the armor isn't going to solve anything.
