It just last night came to me that those colors might not be random.

So do the the IDs have a designated color and what are they?

i think its linked to the ID - but i always wondered if it was totally randomly assigned colours or a logic, too. - maybe unlawfuls are red, neutrals are white and lawfuls are.... errr... blue? - is there blue?

but i think its not like that - i think its simply random. - anyway, i like the red one best hehe

pirate ID is red i think, merc is yellow?

i got a corsair but i dno wat the colour is lol.

As said in the infocards, the ID 'item' replaces the tractor beam 'item' in Discovery.

Thus, your ID determines the colour of your tractor beam.
I think the colour was set when the respective ID was created. They probably are chosen to fit the assosiated faction.

While it seems like things are mostly straightforward tractor beam color-wise, I could swear I've seen it change colors at times. Does the environment also affect it?
