You could also try a Falchion, Lane Hacker LF.

The LH LF and Bomber look like they were made of legos >.> Only one I like is the bayonet.

When picking a ship for a character, it usually breaks down to...
70% Looks
30% Effectiveness

Give or take a few =P Aesthetics are important, even though most players dont care what ship i'm flying.

Don't be ridiculous!

edit: 'ninja'd'. But really there's a 4 minute gap and my bear/dinosaur speed makes it all my fault.

Well... I kinda bought all three.

GREYHOUND

My review of the greyhound is... that...

It sucks. The torp slot seems to have a very narrow firing arc, or is placed in a strange place on the ship, meaning that using a minirazor becomes very hard unless you're in a joust with someone. Now while that seems like a fairly easy situation to create, it's worth pointing out that a greyhound is really quite large and doesn't have much armour when comepared to a VHF. So generally, in terms of surviving, not a good idea to joust in it.

On top of that, you don't have a vast number of guns. Five as opposed to six. This means that with a fairly standard loadout of two debs and the rest sammies, you'll only be firing only three... Not much of a problem, cos you can fire three sammies for a hell of a long time. EXCEPT! The turret slot, which constitutes one of those guns has a fairly limited arc as well... You'll find shooting things in the edges of your screen very difficiult with that turret.

SWITCHBLADE

Seven guns eh? Hell that sounds like fun on something that moves so damned fast...

be warned, this ship is made of paper. You might be able to dish out more punishment than pretty much any other HF, but you might find yourself falling out of your ship rather quickly if you're not careful.
If you're using all seven guns on this, you'll want to be careful about using a mini razor. You may find you don't have the energy to use it that often. If that's the case then consider something else.

I wouldn't consider a sunslayer too seriously, because you'll only get one chance to screw up a shot.

All in all, this ship is fast and lethal, does a lot of damage, but tends to explode. It's quite large, and doesn't have vast amounts of hitpoints.

BAYONET

Probably the pick of the bunch in my opinion. This ship has a near perfectly placed torp slot for mini use. along with an awesome shape for evading fire. I find myself with a big grin on my face every time I fly this thing... Seriously.

Go for an all gun loadout. You'll probably catch a lot of people on the EK with this ship, as it tends to take them by surpriuse a bit with the speed it turns. Use that, and just pummel them with guns.

Probably my favourite heavy fighter in the game. Looks awesome, flies nicely and you can get away with wearing aviators while flying it.

Ok, good reviews, thanks joe.

Now, weapons...

The bayonet has trouble firing even 4 sammaels, much less all 6. With the full loadout of rogue guns, the thing's powerplant drains in like 4 seconds - would you suggest sticking with that, or going with 2 debs / 4 sammaels instead?

As for heavy weapons, I really like the model and effect of the inferno, but it's short range and huge energy cost make it tough to use, at least from my experience with it in singleplayer testing. I havent seen too many people actually using the inferno, but it seems like it'd be good for joint pirating with other rogues/hackers. Any comments on that?

The mini razor, well, I hate it, but I know how good it can be at the same time...

Inferno on a rogue? Eh... no. Not unless you're willing to give the nation some... explaination as to why you should be granted one.

On another note: I'd say go for a scimitar. A month or two in that ship and your fighting skills will have improve significantly.

Well, I use four sammies, 2 adv debs and a mini.

The best was of sorting out your guns, is just playing with stuff until it feels right.

Bayonet. It's sexy. I don't think you need something more.

So true. I tried to make a LR char and I got killed so much time in few days, I deleted it.
