I got it on ps3 the day it came out in UK and i still love it as it offers soo much if you give time to it. Ok graphics arent the best most detailed ever seen but by no way can you call them a joke as they certainly arent poor either. Gameplay is top notch and keeps me entertained for hours and online is sweet!
I think why a lot of people have bashed it is because of the fact it aint as crazy and silly as SA was. Example: No jet packs and running around in a clown suit while breaking into a secret underground army base in GTA4. Gta4 goes for a more gritty realistic view and before someone says omg wtf it isnt realistic you stupid fanboy then note this i said a MORE realistic view, no way is Gta4 a realistic game but it is more realistic than SA and most of the other GTA's. Other small problems with Gta4 can be the FPS which can be low at times and also the new cover system is not perfect but combat is MUCh better than SA, Vice city etc. Also car handling is a big improvement in my view.
Sorry if you disagree with me but in the end am just giving my opinion and i must admit i am a Gta fanboy. I have every Gta except for the rubbish nitendo 1's and also Liberty city stories.
GTA 4 is good game ,but its not game of the century.Best way to play it is to have PS3 and nice big tv screen.As for PC u need little stronger machine for it.
Best for Xbox 360 if you have to get it, since that is getting exclusive content.

Yet it still is, and number 4 is the worst one a child should be playing.
Games like GTA are just mindless in my opinion. I wouldn't waste my time on any of them. At least games like SOCOM and FarCry have a real story line and require strategy. You don't just go round slashing hoes with swords, stealing police cars and do drive-by's on fast food stores.:sleep:

No offence but if you really believe that is all GTA is then you really need to have another look at it....
Gta does have a storyline and good ones at that! Gta does require strategy, not to the degree of Socom and all but u cant just run and gun in every mission and not every mission is just a shooting mission anyway.
