The rule is that your supposed to do day to day patrolling in the Liberator. If you have time and know that a problem is comng along, then switch ships. now when 4.85 comes along, that may change.

That's why the SWAT was created right?
Besides... In 4.85, if they don't nerf the Liberators' manuverability, that ship is going to be godlike. No insta-kill mines or missiles to worry about, and they'll have a hard time hitting you with guns.
I know in 4.85 I'll be thinking twice before fighting against a Liberator >_>

Hack I understand your peeved, but some of the groups you've mentioned should be there the Maf are Rogues. Rogue tagged and ID'd and flying Rogue ships. Fun fellows who like to shatter kneecaps if they don't get their money. Has to be said I don't see them putting too many feet in the wrong place. The ]M[ told me very carefully they'd be operating in the Independent worlds surrounding Liberty.

The CCS stands for Cali Combat Squadron, and I'm damn sure that doesn't mean Liberty's Cali, rather than the Outcast Cali. The Liberty Rogues don't like folks muscling in on our turf, and if we find them pirating in our space then there's going to be a little turf war.

The RHA and LWB should be passing through at best, setting up chars and the like. I suspect that these fellows were not faction tagged, as both Blodo and Baconsoda hold their factions to the highest standard.

But then the counter to this is that despite their not being 18 different factions to choose from in the Lawful arena, we unlawfuls still get out number punched by a dizzying array of folks. There's the official factions, who are normally good boys and girls and get the same in return. But we've got the Indy LNS, who will do whatever they can to skirt Jihad's fun little policy, there's the /LC/ who I've never seen in anything smaller than a GB. There's the BHG who do like to jump into an existing fight and spam missiles at my ships, and Lawfuls do tend to have the in-game presence over the unlawful factions.

However, the behaviour of pirate Indies is their behaviour, the LR and XA both do try to educate our Indies with the carrot approach, but it must be said that doesn't always work with Rogue tagged and Id'd dessies looking for a fix. It upsets me greatly when the bad few go ahead and annoy the local law, as it's the good many that will inevitably suffer. I don't know when my LR last attacked anywhere near manhattan, it may have been when I lost the Problem to three BHG BC's. I expect LR to keep a semi low profile in NY. Unless we're doing other shenanigans which may require a high profile. And every unlawful worth his salt should know the back routes that allow you to travel through Liberty without going anywhere near NY.

Del, I am going to go ahead and admit this:

The Liberty Rogues, The Xenos, and Lane Hackers are some of the better RPers I have seen in Liberty. I wished more people were of this caliber. With them, I know whats going on, and it's pretty clear cut what is going to happen, no guessing. It's none of these 3 that are causing problems. I didn't mention the Order because I haven't come up against them yet. The only reason the 3 were listed was to show people who all we dealt with.

I am talking about the Freelancers that openly ally with the outcasts and rogues, Outcast dessies that were npc farming and planet camping last night (yes, I have ss), and the other ilk that like to come kick the ant hill, as looqas so eloquently put it. Pirates that show up every night in a gunboat. Same people, every night.

I think its fair to say neither side is perfect and we just have to deal with whatever we come up against in the best way we can. A Outcast destroyer kills your LN bomber, so what? Call in the cavalry to get him shot down, or if the backup never arrives, switch to another character and move on. Eventually the destroyer will get bored and log, then you can go back to law-enforcing if you want.

Like many have said before, it's bad on both sides.
One thing that really peeved me happened yesterday. I meet a LN indy havoc on my mercenary, chat with him a bit. He tells me he'll open fire if I don't leave. As I was typing a response, all I hear is "shield failed" and see my ship explode. It takes a real jerk to 1-2 insta-kill someone who's trying to RP with you. And to top it off, there's no way I could have reported him, as he did "say something" before engaging.

People like that seem to be looking to ruin people's days...

Yes, the old LPI. And I was bloody active, since I was about the only LPI on at any given time. Plus it was my only character.

The point is that there are bad experiences by everyone, on both sides. I hate topics like this, because it just leaves a bad taste on what we already know is happening, and isn't going to change.

If you have time and know that a problem is comng along, then switch ships.

...Yeah. Like I said.

(Not to mention, Liberators own against anything under GB class. One of the best LFs in the game.)

I know of one particular Freelancer who hangs around NY and consistently allies with unlawfuls against the LN/LPI/LSF. I really never understood why he hasn't been made KoS, or had bounties placed on him, and hunted down before he ends up allying with the unlawfuls in a fight.

Like you Hack say that the problem is not really the LH~, XA or LR, and like Del said that they try to use the carrot for some of the players they encounter, then what more people can do? Really. I have found out that respected factions try to stay clear of mess. There might be once in a while individuals in a faction that causes problems (be that ignorance or just personality of the player), but mostly respected factions try to play fair and also take into account the receiving end. They can't control indies, so nobody really can blame them for their actions either.

Whenever I'm flying the faction colors (and sometimes my indies too) I do the same. I try my best to rein in my indie allies so that everybody can have fun. I never get into personal or say anything accusatory, but rather try to instruct why something is wrong (be that fair play, oorp etc.) about their ship or behavior.

And that's about it. Not much else you can do. Sometimes people take the advice. Some are silent and some just tell me to quit crying.

I saw the 2 RHA on, one was a new guy the other was rep fixing. Unknown about the LWB.

There is a reason some of us do use GS pretty frequently, most of it has to do with the increased use of missiles. My LF just plainly is disarmed too quickly by a missile loadout. My GS is still lacking missiles just because I like to be able to defend against other GB's I fight, also it isn't fair to those using vanilla ships right now. Soon to be fixed I hear.

The overkill happens on both sides of the spectrum. Sometimes it comes from the aftermath of a big battle, others it is just who is on. There is no real way to stop it other then just being fair who you attack, matching class and such.

I will say that I was leading a large group reciently and we didn't attack just because we had such overwelming odds. Even had a guy switch sides to even it up before the fight. There was still complaining afterwards unfortunatly.

Both sides are flawed. When I had my 522nd Cruiser, I was tailed by a mortar-whoring Battlecruiser through the badlands on the RP of "Engaging hostile."
I got bored of that so, "character deleted."

And as a Liberty Lawful in a gunboat, I was attacked by two phantoms on the RP of some random crap about "talking corpses". <---That one became the 522nd Cruiser. >_>

Both incidents happened in New York, I may add.

Though, I quite like the Xeno "YEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAW!" banter when I am passing through Liberty, and the Rogues in general are at least semi-well-versed in RP, faction or otherwise.

The Maf and .:BW:. rogues, although I'm not sure of their faction status, are fairly decent RPers. I've worked with them.

The LN and LPI seem a bit... bleh. Sure, they can RP, but they just like demanding that people leave, or drop cargo, or whatever. They never really seem to be willing to toss remarks back and forth with a pirate. Too interested in taking out the trash.

The LH~, I can't say I like. I was escorting a trader once, went in after their Gunships. Yelled a few things at them. Got PWNED. -_-...

I haven't seen the /LC/ much, but whenever they are on, they seem to be camping Houston.

As for the BHG, their rep is terrible as it is. I'm not going to touch it.
