I am an Outcast so I only really know how to get Outcast IFF up. This is a quick and easy way to do this.

The following are step by step instructions to get quick Outcast IFF.

Step 1: Go do some smuggling in a Rhino or some sort of cheap trade ship (preferably Cardamine>Slaves)

Step 2: Gather up about 700,000 credits to buy a Outcast rep hack at Planet Malta

Step 3: Once again do some more smuggling (same cargo)

Step 4: once again get about 700,000 credits and go to Cali Base in Tau 23 and get a GC rep hack.

****You should now have a Outcast IFF****

I will be guessing that you could do this with other Factions also.
Please post to help others out

I will update this when I learn new combos.

If you want to truly RP it all out, please do the missions and work for the IFF, but I just thought this could be helpful

So you want to become a Junker? If so follow this.

Step 1: After you get your first trade ship start collecting "Junk" (first ship should be CSV sicne you want to be a Junker)

Step 2: After you make about 700,000 credits, go get a Junker rep hack (there are many different junker bases around. You can pick any base of those you want.

Step 3: Collect some more "Junk" and sell it until you get another 700,000 credits.

Step 4: Get an Outcast rep hack.

***You should now be a Junker***

In many cases it's possible to get a double (sometimes triple) bribe, which is two NPCs offering a bribe for the same faction at the same time in the safe bar. Take them both and you'll have full rep.

So do you have any ideas for new players.

Perhaps unfortunately, there's no quick ways for a new player to get a specific tag without a fair bit of money to spend. If you have a couple mil, you can get a double bribe and be set. Otherwise, you either have to earn that money first, or do a lot of missions (if the faction you want has missions, and to do some faction missions you'll need a decent ship).

On missions. One of my characters is a scientist - in an Armored Transport with no weapons. I needed to work on my Rheinland Police Rep in order to buy my Freelancer ID, and since I was obviously not equipped to do the job myself, I did the sensible thing and hired someone else.

Got to sit back as a mercenary did about four missions in a row for me. Got my rep where I needed it and I didn't have to bother with the whole 'fighting' thing.

Morality, like art, means drawing a line someplace.

It's actually possible to repfix in a starflier, as long as you only take missions up to about level 7-10 (10 is kinda pushing it). I managed to fix myself a Xeno tag in a starflier twice (only cheating slightly by taking the bribe at Aimes).

I would guess that, with careful mission selection, one could get LPI/LSF/Rogue/IC/Ageira/DSE tags in a starflier in New York.

One of the ones that people often complain about is Order. Simple way to do this one is to get a Zoner bribe and a Corsair bribe. This will push your rep high enough to take missions, which can be pretty easly done in a mk2 VHF, and, as they are 100-200k missions, at least, your rep will build fast.

House Militaries are one of the most tricky, I find, as there are no bribes (militaries are not corrupt...), so you have to rely on missions. For the Bretonian Armed Forces, there is a distinct lack of high-paying missions, and those that pay over 100k usually involve the nigh-indestructable Rogue Gunboats. I don't know what the situation is in other houses, but I would imagine it would be similar.

And, of course, remember your allies. If your rep is one bar away from full, getting a bribe for one of your allies can pus it that little bit extra, making you tagged. (OC allies have the advantage here of being so numerous. Rogue+Hacker+Crysanthemum+Dragon+Outcast+god-knows-what-else. Do them in the right order, and tagging is easy (the "right" order is to get the one you are aiming for first).

Liberty Rogues

3 ways here, the dollar route, the depot route and the bloody hard work route.

The Dollar Route:

If you happen to have four million credits just lying around here's what you do...

First dock and buy a trader ID. You're over level 40 and thus in breach of the rules unless you buy the ID.

First fly to Rochester, here take a Junker bribe. This will increase your rogue rep just enough to land on the next base:

Fly to Alcatraz in California, here you will get the following bribes in exactly this order, Liberty Rogue, Lane Hacker, Outcast. Once all three bribes have been bought you can undock with a Rogue IFF. Getting these three bribes in any other order will result in the tag of the faction for whom you bought the first bribe, so Outcast bribe first to become an Outcast, Hacker bribe to become a Lane Hacker.

This method does not make you hostile with Liberty Law. So you'll need to either shoot NPC's or take a few missions against the local law to get them hostile.

The Depot Route:

Next to Manhattan and opposite from Newark are three depots, two police and one DSE, shoot them, shoot them all, then fly to Fort Bush, just above Baltimore there are two more DSE depots, shoot them too. This should raise your rep enough to take missions. However if these depots are not there or you haven't got four million credits to spare, we move on to:

The Bloody Hard Work Route:

First go to Rochester and buy a level 3 shield, you're going to need it.

Second, go to Newark and buy two hullbusters and one shield buster. Congrats you now have a pimped flea.

Sit around Manhattan shooting BHG NPCs until they hate you on sight, when that happens move to the Badlands and hunt down more, shoot them lots unitl your Rogue rep is just to the right of neutral.

Dock with Buffalo and take missions,

Xeno rep

This is a little harder when starting from scratch... Especialy if you're gunna be roleplaying this one from the very start.

Pimp your flea. My advise would be a missile and a pair of shield busters.

Roam around the badlands and shoot at everything you see, selling the loot at freeport 2 or ames reseach station. Build up a bit of cash like this. You will blow up a lot. Once you have a fair amount of cash sorted out move on to the next step.

Now very sadly you have to go out of character for a while and dock on denver to get a starblazer. Back to the badlands and keep blowing up everything...

Once you have neutrality with the xenos go and dock on ouray and start doing missions. From there it should be pretty palin sailing. Very sadly to get a VHF you'll have to head off to freeport 9 in omicron theta... Try to do it on the sly without anyone noticing the xeno in the omicrons.

I think that is funny, my sense of humor may be weird to some standard.

Sorry that was off topic.
