good to see it happen, however I don't really like the new name, as some indies may end up using it.

as said before, there are currently only two indy players using the tag (and I think they've both changed by now). I dont think it will be a problem, and if anyone is using the tag who isnt in the faction we'll simply ask them to change it, admins can change it if they dont (same as they've done with other players using faction tags).

IMO, the namechange wont effect much, as the Order is one of the few factions where indies arent such a effect, as, for example, outcasts or corsairs, where you always have at least 7 sitting around the planet, using the freelancer npcs as mortair practice.


But you saying the admins should change the names, imo, is not a good idea, since, after all, it will be your fault for making the faction name so easy to mix up. What about indies who will use some other tags for example...dunno +Order+ or (Order) or so on...

from what i've seen, any time a non-faction player uses a faction tag, sanctions happen... usually the tag is simply removed and they get a warning I think. We're not going to go harassing people who use the tag, just ask them to change it because it is used by an official faction they arent part of, anyone who cant comply with a simple request like that is asking for trouble anyways.

From what I know, the admins approved this name change, as swiss said they've been talking about it for almost a week now before this post was made. Obviously the admins are ok with it.

Noo, what i ment was that the tag is so...common, that sanctions will happen all the time.
Werent there people who used Bs| who though it was a tag people used for battleships.

Just, others might use this one (not on purpose) even more.

Suggestion: Widen your range of operations, and give the Wilde something to shoot at.

Of note: Yes, the Commies in te Omegas aren't too friendly with your chums (god knows why they're your chums, though), but have an unfailing hatred of all things alien. If they were red instead of bluey purple, we might take a second before obliterating them.

Anyway, that, and our attempts to crush the Nomad-loving in Alpha might be worthy of some consideration.

After all, the Order aren't hostile to the Bretonians or Rheinlanders, in spite of being pally with the Corsairs, right?

To add a note: One of the perks official factions get (amazing, I know, as there's nooooooOoooOOoo point to being official) is that they reserve dominance over their faction tag. Zero imposters allowed.

This is the way it is and always has been. Nothing elitist about it. Don't want player Zed taking your tag and being stupid.

We're fairly friendly with rheinland, Bs| used to be allied with the RM actually. I think the reasoning is because we constantly help them out with the wild in rheinland space.

Bretonia... not so much. Personally I think we're almost full on hostile with bretonia, for a few simple reasons:
1. Bretonia is liberty's closest ally, and liberty has branded us terrorists. Bretonia is likely to follow that misguided labelling and shoot us on sight.
2. We have only one ally in bretonia, and that's the gaians... and they're considered terrorists/pirates/criminals in bretonia.
3. We're currently trying to ally with Kusari (as well as rheinland) to gain some freedom of movement/public support for the order, and bretonia is at war with kusari.

Now, I dont know who's heading up the rheinland-order diplomacy, but I've been working for the past few weeks on setting up an alliance of sorts with Kusari. IMO, despite killing tekagi, Kusari is the order's best bet for a new ally - two of our allies exist there (FA and Hogosha), and both of those factions are very highly respected in Kusari. The hogosha also have a great deal of power and influence within the kusari government, and The Order has really never taken direct action against Kusari (with the tekagi exception).
Plus, well... Aki Kimura (my order character) is a native of kusari, and hence holds a little bit of respect and influence there, making her prime choice for a diplomat in that area. Most kusari wont listen to gaijin =P

Gaians aren't actually an ally. They're allied to the Corsairs and Hogosha, for God knows why, and therefor likely friendly to the Order as fellow allies of the Corsairs and Hogosha (for God knows why), but not actually allied. They probably generally have absolutely nothing to do with one another. I think Bretonia is a wary neutral, and both my Bretonian and Order characters act in such a way.

As for the alliance with Kusari... Well, as far as I know, that's pretty much the RP work of one Order character (you), and has nothing to do with the official faction diplomacies set forth by Igiss. It's also not even common knowledge to anyone who doesn't associate with Aki. Not really an issue for the overall Order/Bretonia friendliness (which is neutral by default).
