Well, the .:j:. don't hate ALG and never have. If they want to do this, we definitely won't oppose. I have my doubts about them pulling this off in Liberty space, but that's their right. I also am not sure anything positive will come of this. We will continue to collect our scrap and make our own way in this vile world. The rest of you can do what you will. I will say this. If any of you really do have a valid interest in cleaning up the mess that has been made in Liberty, bravo to you and I tip my hat. I'm still waiting to see if that is the case however.

Crow Out.

As there isn't really a discussion thread for this... It is pretty easy to shrink the Pittsburgh debris field over time if you want DSE/ALG to succeed. I can make the nessacery changes and submit them as something for the Auto-Updater.

Seth
This is a discussion thread.

The potential changes to the mod are all dependent on the outcome, and I can imagine changes for most possible outcomes. Whatever the changes, though, I would be much appreciative if you could implement them when the time comes!

ALG's participation hasn't fully been decided yet, since the contract negotiation has only just started, but the most important duty of ALG will most certainly be the salvaging.

I suggest that ALG estimates how many Mining Ships will be available for the event, if this number seems too high then we will coordinate the matter between ALG and DSE.

As an in-role-play matter, it makes little sense for ALG to bring lifters to a planet already full of them.
I more wanted to roleplay shifting large chunks of debris out of the field and salvaging rather than for actual economic gain, hence a heavy lifter, as a mining ship would be more suited to collecting small scraps.

As i wanted a heavy lifter for several other events i have planned, it has been set up anyhow, and is no loss to me if you don't want it involved.

ALG's "Mining Ships," as I see it, are the next natural development from taking the waste to the recycling plant. If the recycling plant can go to where the waste is, it can process most of it directly there on-scene and produce more compact and efficient parcels for transport to factories or perhaps refining plants of some sort.

This is, at least, the best I could come up with considering the game mechanics. Role-playing without any support from the game becomes a bit too unsubstantial in the long run, in my opinion, so I do my best to adjust the holes in my paradigm to fit those in the game.

As I said, though, it's not out of the question for ALG to provide transportation as well, especially if the transportation is in some way especially suited for this type of work. ALG are experts in this sort of thing, so if ALG tells DSE they need some form of equipment to fullfil their contract, DSE won't have much reason not to allow it.

In the system ini, the debris field has a set radius in the three directions. It's therefore relatively easy to reduce each number by 100 or so, and have the field literally "shrink".

Call if you ever need it done:)

I can only see one small problem . If you shrink the field , wont the "dark" area shrink as well , and moved ? Or is the "dark" part a diferent field from the other one ?

If you mean the particle cloud, it is a different field, and will therefore just stay where it is. It won't be affected by anything I do to the debris field.
