Yesterday in a nice piece of spontaneous RP the GMG station Aomori fell to an expeditionary force of Phantoms, over the last few hours the initial attacking force of Phantom Marines have been reinforced with detachments brought in by Phantom Battleships. The fighting on the station is getting more desperate but the GMG security stationed there are fighting with a bravery as yet unknown to themselves.
The event will be in a few days. The idea is to build a suitable response force that can destroy a Phantom fleet.
The Phantoms want to keep hold of Aomori and so will fight rather than fleeing, although when the loses are too significant they will flee.
To simulate the fact that neither the GMG nor the KNF will allow Aomori to stay held, GMG/KNF forces will be ALLOWED to re-engage up to once during the conflict. Although this will only apply to fighters and bombers.
This will be waived if the GMG/KNF initial forces outnumber the Phantom initial forces by at least 2:1
Phantom forces will consist of the following heavy support choices (subject to change)
Vulcan or Savage (Osiris or Outcast Destroyer)
Hellbound (Osiris)
DarkStar (Outcast Destroyer)
Banshee's.Wail (Rogue Gunboat
That is the most capital vessels we can deploy. Everything else will be fighters and bombers. Provided we can muster the numbers that will be what we field.
In order to make the capships more useful and less vulnerable in this conflict, Capital vessels above Gb size must be engaged only when 50% of the owning factions ships are destroyed, and they must be engaged in the following order Cruiser/Destroyer followed by Battleship.
Upon being taken down to 10% of their initial force the Phantoms will then flee, they must be allowed to flee. The intent is to drive them out not wipe them out.
The Phantoms should not win this event, in fact we're deliberately setting it up so they can't win without a miracle.

My Guild Master char will be staying behind in the Sigmas keeping labour calm and productive as well as cutting through the necessary diplomatic and adminstrative red tape necessary for rebuilding from the aftermath.
I have a pile of pilots hoping to join in with more support in the form of small strike craft, I'll let them reply with their availability.
For myself I will be working Nightshift tonight and tommorow night, 12 hrs each 8:00(GMT-1) and then I am clear Mon, Tues. and Wed.
We hope some KNF players may be willing to participate and provide us with heavy support. Because for them it's to not just to push Phantoms out but to prevent them from having base of operations in Honshu.

I am in agreement with no "hired guns". The mercs, freelancers and BH's that are taking down pirates in the Sigmas will be asked to continue to do so. It frees GMG to mass their part of the assualt.
It's an internal matter of great concern between GMG and KNF forces, GMG may be more tolerant of "Gaiijins" (foreigners) but the contents of this base is of great importance to GMG and "hired guns" may be undesirable in our strike force.
Sorry to those Mercs who have been helpfull for us and again we hope you can continue to help by keeping Sigma clear while we do this.
