Slight problem with that, as the IND owns a good portion of the known arms-dealers, including Malarlo. and we're in negotiations to snap up another major player in the arms race, but there again such could always lead to intersting price wars. So long as you aren't just going to sit around Manhattan and lag NY, and make sure there's a decent amount of RP behind the concept.

Ohhh, thats interesting, when i try the answer ADMIN give to me was something like:NO WE DONT WANT TO SEE THAT ON THIS SERVER,now its a possibility...hummmmm.......ohhh and for the part, just sit in NY and lag the server, you guys,i mean the ADMIN are the best in that, your always there on the top of newark.....OHHH and i have like 50 screenshot of a ADMIN whit a arms dealer just beside him ,beside newark..........yea right guys......YEA RIGHT.
Patriot, you're original concept had NO Rp it ws a design to make arms dealers less susceptible to folks wanting to blow them up. The IND owns three arms dealers, one in Gamma, one in Alpha and one in NY. They are very susceptible to getting destoyed and the reason for their inclusion was because the owners of them had joined the IND, which made it logical that their arms dealers fall under our banner.
As for Admins lagging the server, talk about laugh. I nearly fell off my chair. When an Admin is in NY, he's watching for newbies flying without IDs, as this generally means a corrupted install of Disco, answering PM's, which flood in by the minute, we're not idle. Ever.

Kudos to that - Silent Admin sitting there not saying anything usually = Admin dealing with PM spam....
As for the faction concept, i also like it, especially the idea of standardised prices amongst dealers and i also REALLY like the idea of a price war between the IND backed dealers and another player on the block;)
It would be good to see some decent Role play behind it - you might want to look at some of the other approved trading factions and see how their faction write ups look, might help point you in the right direction.
Good idea but I hope you will be different and will not sit just near fixture with finger at F3 because your faction trying to claim monopol should bring some nice RP into game like silent war of the gangs:)
Anyway I must say all arm traders I ever met sux a lot... using cripled game mechanics to earn money is realy stinky. I mean fast docking which made you unpiratable, only what can kill you is gangbang of 3 bombers with terorist IDs = never happen.
' Wrote:This i think, is a tremendously good idea, HOWEVER, be prepared to get heavily pirated for the guns if you go around tagged. Remember, merchants arent immune to piracy, and just camping a planet waiting to speeddock is poor rp. if you want to place a bounty, fine. but dont camp manhatten or somewhat looking for buyers. Also, unless the "standard" price is a fair one, you WILL make enemies, such as the LR, Hackers, as well as indie factions like ]M[ and CCS, and even BW possibly. i look foward to seeing this turn out, but id ask you to RP the role, unlike SOME dealers.
I've never done the whole speedock thing and never even been to NY with my arms dealers. Never been attacked either but that may be because i fly a talarca and a kusari explorer and they're no easy target.

i don't know about their mistakes, what happened? (did they get greedy?)
' Wrote:Good idea, but get better name and tag, since some newbies might mistake you for Moderators.
i don't know why but this never occured to me, I really like the name though so maybe i could just change the tag to [MD] or somthing.

noob question but i am semi noob, who are the IND? wiki let me down on this one. Also those IND guys could change their allegiance right? they could still supply weapons to the IND after all.

will do
Thanks all for the positive feedback i will take your advice and try very hard to RP it well! Also what do you all think of it being smugglers and arms dealers? pros/cons? I was just thinking because it fits with the name merchants of death with smugglers trading in dangerous alien artifacts and drugs etc on the black-market. Is there already a smggler faction?
If you have a Arms dealer in bretonia, then the WT will give VERY competitive rates on escorts and protection. You could pay us in guns for example. We could assist you in collecting the guns, and also in marketing them, as we have friendly relations with many traders (who are trading to buy nice fighty type ships...). Hell, just join the WT as my armourer, and you'll be stinking rich by the end of the week!
ATM i'm setting up a new player every other day, and i'm running out of time to collect the weapons/equipt needed.
Codies are like cherries imo - a cherry will complete a cake, but it isn't the cake itself, and nor is it the cream. A dealer should offer more than just codes, for RP and for profit.
The Rp is that these guns are supposed to be rare prototypes, not standard loadouts.
There is profit to be made in making a package deal (guns, shield, cm/cd/mines/AU/engine) and tailoring it to LF, HF, Bombers and even GB's.
People would even pay for your advice on what is and what isn't allowed on a falcata vs a challenger for example.
Send me a pm if your interested. At the very least, I'll help you write up the faction post, and I may have some members for you.
