Traders: "Kill me now" OORP?

Well quite simple i hold up a trader ask for 3 million credits and he goes: Kill me, it's cheaper! Isn't that OORP? can i report them for acting OORP and beeing OOC, as i'm sure if i was held at gunpoint i wouldn't say kill me now...

Why report. Admins have better things to do. Ask a friend to get a transport and kill him, tractor the loot and sell. We always have a Pir transport ready just because they dont pay.

Definitely a question for debate. If he/she just says to kill them because it's cheaper then possibly. If they choose to fight a losing battle with the same mindset then I'd say no. My trader has fought back, lost and re-loaded at a much cheaper rate. Besides, Doc Holliday of western fame never took anyone's crap and since I RP him, neither do I.

yeah tractor in 180 units from a 5k train... i don't even need a transport for that...

I'm just observing that this is rather pointless, how they get OORP, and a one nice clear admin "NO THIS IS OORP" to get the point across is what i'd like to hear. I mean how hard can it be to just say "Die pirate Die! and engage", why does a trader have to say "kill me now it's just cheaper" It's oorp to value the life of you and your crew so low. I'm not saying someone could get special RP that he is suicidal, that's ok... but the majority should be sanctioned for OOC 10% of income per line. pretty basic stuff.

Thing is if you'd want to do that you'd spend more time filling the reports then robbing the b'stards:PAlternatively you can always go to Omega 5, both alien organisms and VIP's are quite expensive and that makes most of the traders rather "sane" ...

If pirates are so oorp asking, 3 mill or die, i wonder why some traders even bother to talk back...oh i am sorry, this was just another crying threat, ok well then cry.

If you, the pirate would give your vitims some deacent pr, instead of "3mill ordie" + "engaging", you might get rewarded with some really nice play, after witch you still get to kill the transport...but oh yea ist mutch simpler to point at others and start crying.

Well to be perfectly fair, one could say that the Trader is "roleplaying" that he's some crazy maniac who craves for death, even his own.

Edit: Do not take my word for it, as it is an interpretation of the rules. But I personally believe this OORP rule was installed to answer for those persons that were actually acting a form of clear OORP behaviour.

As for your situation Jure, it is a grey area (seeing as it can be OORP and RP depending on a persons view) and in my opinion feel it's pretty lame to sanction report for such a thing. Seeing as the Admins have far worse matters to deal with.

You can perfectly roleplay out of a situation like this and it shouldn't require an Admin to step inbetween.

Actually most of us pie-rats that read the forums do try to RP with traders. Belive it or not there are some pirates that dont use "2milrdai" scheme.
