The Siege of Aomori

You know I was really excited about this event.

I took my trader and downgraded it to a freighter, then filled up with actual GMG pilots and military vehicles.

It was my intention to role-play efforts to board Aomori Station, unload and attempt to take back the station.

What do we get instead? The Phantoms deciding to attack us as Ogashawa whilst we are still waiting.

I am not here for the pew-pew, I can get that anywhere on a daily basis in Sigma-13. I was taking part in this event for actual RP here.

Very disappointing. And an utter waste of my time.

EDIT: Dont get me wrong - I dont give a rats arse that we lost. We lost the first event, and I get blown up by all manner of pirates every other day. its not about the winning or losing, its about how the game is played.

Which obviously resulted in something of a SNAFU. But it wasn't supposed to be the event, as nobody in command of either faction was there. Just a fun little furball, which incidentally your fellow Yungai, started.

Yes I started it by flying past in my Fighter, moving from Sigma-13 to Sigma-19 - not knowing of course that your entire group was parked at the jump hole. Your group then followed me through the jump hole and approached Ogashawa.

Make all the excuses you like - the simple fact is you sought us out - not the other way around. I was waiting at Ogashawa, in my freighter, waiting for the ACTUAL EVENT.

I switched to my fighter as it appeared increasingly likely that your group would simply engage us at Ogashawa. We were certainly not wrong...

I tell Mindrender that we can't gather the numbers for the event... but that we could stage a mini-event in the sigmas. I asked how many they have. He said they had four.

He agreed to it, saying they could hunt us in sigma-19. I tell him we are trying to get a fourth.

David Hastings agrees to come via Taro's pm's, but it would take him a few mintues.

Friday switches to his fighter Sum Yungai, which is docked at Naha in Sigma-13. He tells us that the phantoms are all at the Jumphole to Sigma-19. About one minute after Friday arrives at Ogashawa, the phantoms show up on scanners.

I was thinking they were just getting a little impatient...

5 v 2 Friday and I tried to stand our ground. I get torn to bits.

Hey Ross why dont YOU check YOUR facts before YOU make false statements. There are NO Redcats in the Phantoms. I have a KNF Cat, the only Cat in the Phantoms. You know what it's loadout is? Four Nomies, 1 Deb turret, SN+CD. SO where the hell do you get "RedCat with Tizonas and an Inferno"? Del has a a RC with 4 Krackens, missles and a CD. So why dont you stop trying to lie to people about whats going on. Yes it seems like there was some kind of mis-communication. This was not the event this was just supposed to be a little furball. I really don't understand why you are so upset. And to be perfectly clear, we did not advance on Ogoshawa and instead waited till your man came toward us. That being said, I thought it was a fun fight with the exception of the epic lag.

Just like to say, this was simply an error. A blip. Sum Yungai approached to with 1 k of us, when we held station at 6k from Ogishawa. Obviously it seems to have been a case of him trying to see what we had, but yes we got a bit twitchy.

Now Ross, I would sincerely check your facts, rather than relying on guesswork. Thre used to be a red cat in the faction, but since Ench left we haven't got any. Nobody else uses them. We engaged with 2 RC's, a Praetorian, and Eagle and a Cat. Again apologies for the SNAFU, but that's all it was. There was no ill-intent, so chill out.
