Hats off to HAF

So I was flying my new Wilde wrath with a class 8 fighter shield and no cms (for some reason we don't seem to feel the need to have them at our bases). I had left for a weapons upgrade to Iota and stumbled into a HAF convention just as I entered Theta. There were five of them there and I thought, "Hoo boy!". Half my shield bats were gone from NPCs and I was in an NPC swarm of BHs to boot.

HAF actually--with tact--slowly surrounded me. They took their time giving me a chance to escape. I engaged. Instead of ganging on me--one pilot only came. Quite Hispanically gentleman-like I thought. It was actually like a duel and quite cool. One engaged while four in a circle stood and watched.

I did not find that satisfactory so on passes against one another, I would randomly turn and pour fire into one of the crowd. Reluctantly, a second one joined in (I had hit his hull hard). The others maintained a formation and if I fired on them, returned light fire back but made it clear they were being gentlemen.

After a bit, it was clear the two were keeping me busy and the others left for business elsewhere in the system. At that point I really honed in on one pilot and he got hurt bad as well as the other taking some good hits. Another HAF or two arrived in system and then they called for help and it was really on. It was great fun--I felt like Zorro there for a bit. they were all in a furball after me.

Then it got even more fun. The OPG showed up with a gunboat and fighters. They were careful not to overwhelm me and I maintained mostly on the HAF I had whittled on. It was quite a furball. Eventually the HAF were used up and even said to their opponents, "Our bickering is letting the Wild gain the advantage!".

I think the gunboat got me in the end (that or a bomber up my tailpipe).

I just wanted to publicly state that HAF stayed perfectly in role play at all times with all sides and did not complain or make a single OOC comment at any time. They also didn't clumsily "throw" the engagement but fought realistically to win but with "Hispanic Honor".

I say they are good examples of Corsairs from what I saw today. Give 'em a chance guys. I also like the idea of "rival houses"--it makes it interesting.

HAF is an Outlaw clan and it will stay that way untill Crete`s Elders say otherwise
You also mentioned HAF as true genteleman.....letting you fight fair? thats also news to me
since 4 HAF members had no problems engaging 1 single GB vs 2 bombers, a titan and GB all belonging to HAF...sounds like a BHGs tactics
Anyways HAF have KOS on their heads for those that dont know it, and it will stay that way untill farther notice

@Balance: Nice to see someone attempting to inject a bit of positivity into this affair. But a cannibal is a cannibal. They have no table manners, never mind manners of any other sort.

Aye HAF are nice....:Punfortunatly they have an ugly history on other servers and well from the start wanted something ugly here aswell. But now thou, they are more and more obaying the rules more and more roleplaying... Heck they are all of legal-age, think resonably... They picked the wrong faction to mess with thou (OPG)... they should try their luck as outcasts... Krakens would do well for their aim...

:mellow:Well ... yes, if you go to Gamma, you will get ganked. Yet that's not "wrong". It's their home system and if you go there (outside Malvadas) then your intentions are pretty clear. And yes, I flew a BH bomber there to do a mission from FP9 and I was ganked by 4 fighters, a gunboat and 2 cruisers of which one cruised to catch up.

Still, they got every right to vaporize any BH ships that enters that system without mercy. Theta is different since they don't want to upset the Zoners (yet).

Since I don't know them here or on other servers and I DID have a positive experince with them I thought I'd share it. nothing more nothing less.
