The only other alien race that actually fits in freelancer are the dom'kavosh and even they might not appear.

He flies through half the system before going back to New Berlin, where he cruises from one side of the system to the other, hugging the sun as close as he can. All the while, he flies near Battleships trying to scrape me off. I finally send out the white flag, and move back to Sigma 13. However, it was a ruse, and he bit. Knowing his trade route, I interdicted the trade lane and the chase began anew. It ended, an hour after it began, with me retreating, out of Countermeasures and getting very irritated.
He kept boasting how he has never been caught; I'd like to see him beat until he begs to pay, then beaten some more.
Freelancer could do with evolving, sticking with the same thing forever tends to bore people. New ideas, new suggestions and new events such as new species help a lot and add a lot more possibility to RP.

Well a few years in freelancer however consider that the world has the same barbaric plague of greedy humans and that hasn't changed in a few thousand years. And I'm sure your not bored.

Quote:(Tenacity @ Feb 18 2009, 12:43 PM) I've been thinking up an alien race for a while now, related to the phantoms, but I'm still working on it...
Sorry there Ten, Watsas beat you to it.
Pathetic Humans... We will evolve beyond your petty barbarism and greed. And create a future of love, peace, and happiness forever.
Forcibly.
By means of Cybernetic brain implants and imposed evolution upon the legions of squishy primates that seem to think they own the place.
Same with the blue squishies, think their alien creators are going to come back to them to hug them and give them affection for slaughtering all before them. You need to get over it and move on.
Because, without us around forcibly enlightening the population and surpressing their violent tendancies (unless we need them), who would <strike>force</strike> help <strike>malignant unrest structure</strike> humanity and the poor <strike>exogen breach</strike> k'hara to evolve into a <strike>blindly subservient</strike> peaceful and rich society?

Give me a few years.
All the same, have you lived through those few thousand years? We have lived through the many years of Freelancer. Also slightly different when you know all there is to know about Freelancer and it's universe (relatively) while we know so so little either as an individual or as a collective whole in real life. Mystery always adds excitement, or fear, to things and it often can make or break many films/games/books.
Once we know all there is to know in real life, once we have done all there is to be done and experienced all there is to experience, then we will most likely be bored. (And probably end up making our own little species of animals etc, maybe called Earth)
In the end, there are constantly new ideas and new things to find out in real life on all scales. Whether it be someone individually learning something or humanity as a whole, there always seems to be something more to learn.
Freelancer though, can get a bit old after some time.
