2 things:

1. A lot of those turrets need to be mounted on BS of various sizes, now a turret that looks large on a Rheinland BS, would be as big as half of an Osiris :lol:

(Note: RH BS is the biggest BS in game)

2. Huge turrets act as "additional armor" cause the shots hit them instead of the hull.

I mean trying to find the turrets in the section that doom is talking about (2:15) is close to impossible, but on the one I'm talking about you can see at least 2 new types quite clearly.

indeed the damage count but i will say also the size of the gun counts:P

yes but dont forget Rheinland guns are big nono on Osiris:)

yes i know, but then they should make it a different size of all the different Battleships let the Rheinland have the biggest guns if it need to be like that, remember its not the damage that are different only the guns:)

I am quite satisfied with the (new) size of capital ship guns. After all, Vanilla already set what is the right size for them. And remember, size isn't all that matters. Quality of the new ones is superb.

hmr I personally think bretonian guns are quite decent size-wise bs canon. at least, looking at the sig above.
If we can sport weapons of such size, then im contend.

have guns of immense size but as I said, they are for show. I seriously doubt you'll ever see them here. Size disproportionality between model being one serious factor.

i personally think that those turrets are way over sized, but that is matter of taste...however lets talk about game performance...

Those turrets must have about 800 to 1000 polys each (at minimum...i an guessing even more). Now take average battleship with 15 turrets and that gives u 15000 polys in turrets only. Now add average battleship poys count of 10000 to that and we now have 25000 polys. But where is one capital ship there is always another. So lets double that- Now we have 50000 polys only on two battleships. Add whole system and rest of the ships...and u get...well...lower frame rate in best case...

Average primary and secondary turrets have from 100 250 polys. Many have even less. Only rare turrets that are not mounted in large numbers have more polys then that (those are infernos, razors mortars etc.)

Its easy to make those turrets in such detail and size (if we can make so detailed ships, turrets are least of our problems). But they are not made/implemented with regard to overall performance.

No, Doom, actually they are pretty low poly. Very light object, more like 200/300, perhaps less. the main ones on rheinland one though, are more heavy poly but i cant recall how much exactly.

really?...well in such case we can make them into turrets without much trouble...although i would made them as one of the rare turrets like razors or infernos...usual defense turrets dont need to be so large..

however u could check their poly count just to make sure...
