Hello to everyone who are reading this. Before I start writing my thoughts on this matter I would first like to state this:
Anyone who wants to participates in this discussion, do so in a civil manner. Be polite and write in a respectful tone.
(I started a Corsair thread some time ago which lead to a complete dispute between certain forum members. This time I will tell the moderators to delete all posts that are personally attacking another forum member, so this thread won't be locked and let the discussion continue.)

In 4.85 (current mod) a lot has changed between the Bretonia and Kusari war. Kusari has now claimed a small portion of Leeds which has changed the battlefield dramatically but most importantly, made the battle more intense since now there really is a defending side (Bretonia) and the attacking side (Kusari).
Now I don't really have much background knowledge of how the both sides roleplayed towards each other but it's in my opinion getting a little too personal now.
My recent experiences playing a Kusari Naval Forces character and participating in the front-line (Leeds system). I have received roleplay insults from Bretonia law enforcements (mainly have I met the BAF), which is completely fine seeing that Bretonia and Kusari is in a complete state of war. However, I'm sometimes very confused whether the insults I'm receiving actually are from a roleplaying perspective, or a deliberate personal attack, such an attack that would be towards the Player not the Character.
The insults where I'm particularly confused about are the Racial Slurs. Many players do it. Heck, we nearly call everyone Gaijin. We are ultranationalistic xenophobes, but is this statement detracting from the overall roleplay atmosphere, or enforcing our characters?
I feel that the roleplaying atmosphere is really hostile, but perhaps it should be like that during war. I'm still confused and to be very honest, after logging out with my character (whether I have won or lost), I feel personally bad. I don't enjoy at all the Racial Slurs, feels really degrading and it pushes me away to further roleplay at that location.
I could just be whining/complaining or simply be wrong. How do you feel about this issue?
(For anyone who is curious, my independent KNF character is called: Akishino Kyokutei)
I think that you will find that the players who fly both KNF and the BAF are all very sincere people, who though getting very engrossed in their characters, will only ever mean to insult you in character. Most players here are very friendly and will never consider actually insulting you as a person.
If you want to RP correctly, well i guess you should use some kind of flaming and such. But if the player itself feels insulted, it get's too far.
I would advise to not do it, seeing as a random boy could fly by and see all the chatter, then decide to report this for flaming/insult and we have a big mess.
Also, perhaps you could PM the player that does this that he should please use another kind of language because it's hitting you yourself.
In a brilliant tactical movement, i charged backwards.

You'll find that Bretonian players don't have a problem with Kusari players. It's just a game after all, why get worked up? However, Bretonian players also generally get pretty well immersed in their characters which can have some interesting results. A favorite role is to play the Officer who would fit in with the Victorian Aristocracy, and they weren't exactly renown for their political correctness, eh?
I stick to the fairly common insults that you'll here most anti-Kusari characters using. Personally I like it when people insult right back. I find the case of my Bowex Transport Captain and a Kusari Naval Officer getting into a screaming match really funny.
Just remember, it's a game and not worth getting worked up over.

I would never write a racist insult towards anyone regardless of it being in character or not.
Terms such as "noodlemuncher" "sushie" or "tea sipper" is not regarded as racism but rather approaching insults from a cultural perspective (The Kusari Culture) and that is a great alternative rather than using racism because it provides with an actual roleplaying feeling.
And ultimately the way you approach this bluntpencil2001 gives me the impression that it is "Okay" to use racism (again regardless if in character or not) just because a war is in motion which is something I find as a pathetic excuse to act in such a degrading form.

I have taken alot of consideration that this is after all just a game as Jammi put it nicely and I hope you can understand I'm not frustrated or demanding anything to be done, I'm just looking for opinions, how does the community feel about this, or at least find out how members who actually experiences the Kusari vs Bretonia atmosphere, what do they think?
I'm getting answers now and I'm carefully shuffling around my thoughts. Thanks for the inputs.
Three solid words which is something I always implement on all my characters.
It is something that everyone should from a player perspective, but not absolutely necessary from a character perspective. The character itself can hate his enemy, personality and background events can lead to that.
The problem is that was fully in-RP but everyone thought it's OORP.
Funny. In general i would have been obliged to prevent the fight but i haven't done that cause that it would be a ususal fight.
Kubotan wouldn't have been offended but that chatting, cause inRP he doesn't care much about those loosers:)
And BAF pilots should be more polite, yes, it was right to swear him at the moment, but it might be done in the way which can prevent Kubotan to interpret it as the personal insult.
conclusion. we should improve our RP, all of us <_< and maybe to prevent all these pvp fights at all?)
And in general the people should understand when their words insults someone and when no. It's not too difficult.
