A possibly naive question but, why can't ships load weapons below parr?

In 4.84, trade ships could mount any turrets up to level 7. Now, my trader can't have anything but transport turrets. Why can't traders and capital ships mount smaller class weapons for example like fighters and bombers?
Just because you have a class 5 turret position in there doesn't mean you have to have a class 5 turret. You may not like that weapon, it's fire rate or projectile speed may be wrong. You may not like the name....
Modern naval ships carry weapons of various calibres (although a lot are now armed with missiles) from small calibre rapid fire multi-barrelled weapons to truly massive guns.
A cruiser might have four, five or six big turrets and the rest slightly smaller ones (Gunboat for example). A gunboat might have a torp launcher but less turrets or maybe a smattering of class 7 turrets. A battleship might have many weapons of all different sizes.
A destroyer with a couple of big anti-cap guns and a couple of gunboat AA weapons would make a balanced ship I think.
It might make load outs a little more unique. Give more flexibility to ships and allow for more diversity in them.
Just putting this up for some thoughts and feedback.

Most transports can do that, so report which one is it that can't.

I'm not sure I like the idea of battleships mounting cruiser light mortar/pulse cannons..
So that should stay the way it is.

Imagine a battleship with the energy miniguns. That would be at the same time awesome and terrible.

Yes, this is similar to the question "What if battleships/capships had torpedo slots"

Four of them, he could chainfire supernovas.

Technically speaking....

Transports, Gunboats, Cruisers, Battlehsips all have "different calibre" weapons.

Theres light damage, fast projectile / fast refire anti-fighter turrets.
Then theres heavy damage, slow projectile / slow refire anti-armor turrets.

On a Large transport, itd be pointless to mount anything but longrange Transport Turrets instead of Shortrange Fighter turrets.
On a small transport such as an Armored Transport however, then there might be reason for fighter turrets on it.

Edit: Supernova on a Capship is a ridiculous and overly exaggerated situation, and a tad idiotic to even think of. Supernovas are Bomber Anti-Matter Cannons. Mortars, Trebuchets, Razors, and Glaives are Capital ship Anti-Matter Cannons, thats not likely to change. In a similiarly exaggerated situation, I'd ask to have an SHF with its only capability being that it could equip and use a Heavy Mortar and nothing else, No Guns, no Turrets, Torps, CDs, or anything. Just a Heavy Mortar, Stupid idea? Yes, Will it happen? Only in Open SP or private server.......

The way turrets are coded, you can set each gun up to mount whatever class turret you want, in whatever order...If the turret only has the mark for class 7, then it is a class 7 gun, and likely a glitch, coded by someone who had forgotten to fill in 1-6.

Battleships/Cruisers -have- "Torpedo" Slots, they are viewed as Mortars. Gunboats? I see the problem in that. It be nice to have something for a gunboat like a mortar cannon, much less damage, but higher damage than a gunboat razor. Also to have one mortar available mounted on a gunboat forward gun only. Holding the same slow fire rate, high capacitor drain, and a large damage output. (Maybe slow the fire rate by half of a Light Mortar.)
