This is stupid. utterly stupid. Cruisers + Battleships cant hit any NPC (and most not-newbie players too) fighter/bomber 1000 m away.
They have completely crappy defenses.
Flaks?
They are useless on large battleships, and cruisers dont even have them.
When they are usefull, they have very low range, and bombers (people) ussualy stay out of this range? So what do you expect flaks are for? Useless, big waste of money.
Solaris?
Crusier Range? ~900m
BS range? 990m!
BS range shoudl be more like 1.1k, because the npc fighters will be flying out of range 90% of the time
and most of the time SO are real-people bombers, and solaris does so little damage per hit that the few times they do get in range, i cant kill them.
Razors?
Great concept, but they fail in reality.
They use huge amounts of energy, so much in fact two razor shots drain my juggernaut powerplant.
Cruiser razors are too slow to hit small gunboats, which is what they were meant for.
They're speed should be 1100-1250.
Escorts? Most Unrealisitic thing since abstenece.
Would you REALLY hire an escort for EVERY little nomad NPC patrol?
You would be drained of money in a few days. Its really ridiculous, Caps should be able to defend from ANY npc fighter/bomber wing without PEOPLE escorts. Whats the point of being in a cap if you cant defend from a very large portion of the NPC player-base?
My carrier is much better since the new version but I do still want a few changes to be made. The carrier in particular needs 2 battleship turrets so it can equip flak, but smaller cruisers dont need flak at all. Problem is, with two battleship flak, the carrier would probably lose energy like mad.
I do think cruiser razors need to be buffed up to around 1200m/s speed though. They're ok for hitting the largets gunboats right now, but most gunboats evade them too easily, and its impossible to hit them with our 'real' heavy weapons.
Juggernaut isn't a PvP ship. As a Zoner, you shouldn't have enemies.

I gave up on my Battleship. Rocks were my enemy, and as a miner, that made no sense.

It's not just the juggernauts that are affected, it's ships like RM BS, Spyglass, OC Dread...
