well, how about useless in the way it has no pvp/trade potential whatsoever, left with only RP value. A civillian ship should be more or less a simple vessel for traveling. *points at the Eagle* its a civillian ship, riveling the best navy tech.

What could i say...

A simple ship, no guns, no CDs, no mines, only a CM, a class 1 or no shield and a hull thin as paper. And not agile either. Something that a civillian is SUPPOSED to fly.

i disagree, A civilian in space have to have a way to protect himself. Pirates alien races hostiles and what not.

We NEED useless ships.

For example:
How do all the workers(or guys working in offices) get from their home planets to bases where they're working? Obviously he has a civilian ship with no guns, used only for transportation. Or maybe a "taxi" ship, or "bus" ship gets him there. Anyways, both of these ships would have no guns or such, at least by my way of thinking. Do you see taxis, personal cars and buses with guns in real life?

And no, if the officer has life, then he's not spending all of his life on some random company station. He needs transportation, civilian(AND cheap) one to get him to his destination. By my logistics, for an average guy, an armed craft would be too expensive. Police does the protection job.

That's my way of thinking.

I wrote a really funny FL story, but it disappeared when the old forum went away. So, no lulz for you today.

Perhaps some shuttles could be added. Similar to freighters, they would be designed to ferry civilians from station to station, relying on their relative agility and shielding to avoid becoming a scrap heap.

Freighter ish stats, perhaps more armour, no guns.

I don't see the point in putting uselessness.
Seriously, this idea makes no sense whatsoever... unless your motive behind all this fuss was to rape people with a trio of unhittable ships.
