Are bounty hunters allowed to enforce the embargo between lib and Rhineland? I just had one tell me he was allowed to, just need to clarify what their limits are.
no - bounty hunters can only interact if they have a direct mandate. - there s nothing "in" for them to stop a smuggler. - but if one side actually pays them to stop smugglers / blockade breakers - then.. yes they can.
but mind, they can not even engage known, bloodthirsty mass murderers ... unless there is a forum posted bounty on the target. - in that case - they must wait for this mass murderer to drain their shields 50% at least - if hey fire earlier, they commit a violation and can be sanctioned ( in theory )
The BHG ID says that they can request the cargo of any smuggler, if they don't comply, they're allowed to use lethal force. I don't think this applies to the embargo though, unless some Hunters have been contracted to enforce the embargo.
But........ here you are taking sides. If the BHG side with Rheinland then taking legal cargo from Rheinland to Liberty is not smuggling. It's only smuggling if the cargo is standard contraband!!! It's called running the blockade or breaking the embargo if it is a legal cargo.
Here I now defer to the BHG leaders as to direction on whether the BHG are neutral, leaning Rheinlands way or leaning Liberty's way.
Tallyho Good Chappie! Stiff Upper Lip What?! Now, where are my pants!
They lean neither way. They work for the houses, and don't take sides in lawful-wars. Mercenaries fufill that niche.
I don't think bounty hunters should be enforcing embargoes. That is the realm of the navies and police forces, not a "neutral" (between lawfuls) organisation.
another quick question. I am carrying a bounty hunter person commod, saying he's flying the ship, is the bounty hunter allowed to ask for it and fire at me even though i told him he's the pilot of the ship?
It is quite poor for a player to demand a pilot representing your character. That's why I don't necessarily like using cargo commodities as representing aspects of the ship/character. Pilots and contraband, while are in roleplay to carry, often lead to NPCs/players hassling you.
I've been pulled over for a single piece of counterfeit software before.
right now, recruit ID, and workin on getting DSE AFF and normally I wouldn't do the BH commod, except for the fact he's an ex bounty hunter getting set up with Duchess Industries (as soon as they become a legal player faction)
