I have a lib police char I never play but now that there's a war he may become active or switch to Rh. I was wondering who has the numbers on their side so I can go play the other?
Rheinland. I've barely ever seen a indie rheinland police or military. And the [RM] and RFP aren't that active either, nor they have a large member list.
Rheinland has plenty of people. They may not be on during your timezone though. i've seen up to 7 RM online at once w/in the last couple weeks.
That being said...there are a L O T of people, both faction and indie, in Liberty space...probably more than Rheinland.
It'll be interesting to see how the first few real battles go (indie skirmishes don't count in my book, official fights only) to see who's side has the upper hand (not only numbers but coordination and such as well.)
Correction: The [RM] have a titanic member list, but only a tenth of them log on regularly. The [LN] have (IIRC) a similar member list, but more people who play regularly. In addition, the LPI have a significant regular playerbase, as do the LSF, whereas the RFP have... 5 people. As for indies, Rheinland has a handful of lawful indies compared to Liberty's eight trillion. Note- some of Liberty's eight trillion are undoubtedly more concerned with Gallia now, so the numbers might not be so bad, but Liberty is definitely more populated.
However, the [RM] and the unlawfuls in Rheinland (who for the most part support the RM against the LN) are a lot better trained and fight well together, whereas the organization of Liberty is significantly looser. (Not that there aren't PvP-deities in Liberty, but average PvP quality is lower.)
So, playerwise, if you want to join the war casually, join up with Liberty. If you want to make long-term friends and really feel the team, join up with Rheinland.
Rheinland is full of great guys on both sides, best out of all the houses from my own experience, but (myself included) they can be kind of slack with dedication, so there's often no one around. Fine for the unlawfuls when no lawfuls are around, we can go pirate to our hearts content. But lawfuls with no unlawfuls around is pretty boring for them. Hopefully the war will give them something to do.
So join [RM] or RFP|. Don't make an indie rheinland cap. There definitely doesn't need to be any more of them ever.
Rhein deffinatly has fewer but it is an extreme case of quality vs quantity. I will most likely be trying to help stave off the Liberty hoards unless the situation becomes reversed.
A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves largesse from the public treasury. From that moment on, the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most benefits from the public treasury with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy, always followed by a dictatorship.
Hardly. Being on one side convinces you that the other side is merely unintelligent scrap metal to be destroyed at your leisure. On both sides, you get to know the pilots which significantly changes your attitudes. Being on both sides allows one to support whichever side has the lesser numbers, helping to keep fights balanced rather than in a state of constant overkill if you had just joined the one side you played as despite superior numbers and firepower.
I note from your signature you're in the BAF. I believe Dieter encourages this too?
