600 speed and HUGE drain makes it pretty balanced. You're more likely to hit with debilitators if anything.
He said it. Tizonas are the same way. I prefer Debilitators, myself.
But, what happened to the pirate Shieldbusters?
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Yeah I'm uncomfortable with the debilitators on a couple of my characters. My LWB sold off his debilitators on his fighter and bomber, but he has the benefit of a really heavy-hitting hullbuster that kind of compensates. 4 destroyers on a bomber is still pretty serious business. But my hessian still has two mounted. I know they can come from the Hackers or whatever, but that's basically as tenable as hessians having infernos, which I'm not sure would fly with a lot of people.

So, yeah, they're probably selling a competitor's guns, in the same way that Samura and BMM are...
I thought that they were just a universal and simple line that the design schematics were sold to all of the houses so they are manufactured everywhere, making them truly generic.
debs are universal, but in RP they had too come from somewhere, its like the Eagle.. its universal, but its sold on mostly Zoner bases as most people see it in RP as a zoner civilian VHF.
Colada's imo are best used on a bomber.
i have 3 on mine and chain fire em, but YES they do take alot of energy considering the Bomber powerplant.
but im not too fussed about that, with the higher sheild damge output comes alot higher energy usage,
its basically use what in RP you can, Debs are civilian weapons and its like what tenacity said.. the only reason the sairs and OC have betetr weaponry in some cases IS the due fact they have been at war for hundreds of years.

Give me Debilitators and Flashpoints on an Eagle with a CD, and I will give any Outcast or Corsair with an appropriate faction ship and loadout the beating of their life.
Equipment only gets you so far. Especially now that the guns have all been reworked, anyone with any non-braindead loadout stands a fighting chance.
Personally, the only codenames I use are three SOLARIS guns on my Collector, which I looted myself and act in perfect unison with the new Barrager turrets to scare the hell out of bombers who attack Congress transports I'm escorting.

Well, what's also effecting how and were ship selling points are placed mostly depends on the actual Freelancer mechanics, there's a limit of three different ships sold on one station/planet. If this limit was removed (Can't do it unless source code is available) it would create a dynamic ship selling/buying experience. It would also make it more realistic since looking in each place were ships are sold you'll only see one, two, or three vessels that are purchasable.
Back on topic, I think a codename weapon primarily based on shooting the shields down would slightly ruin the novelty status on them, or they just become random super guns out in space waiting to be collected every time the server restarts. RP-wise, it would be good if each house supplied a default shieldbuster. Instead of making a universal gun (I.e. Even USB ports are not really "universal", they are more common for plug and play devices, you don't see em in cell phones/speakers/camera equipment).

* Civilian line ships... Cosmo ment its zoner.. well its not. Civilian line comes from liberty. Check vanila freelancer to make sure.
* Hmzz.. I think that debs is ageira weaponry. Anyway, ass ageira tech are seeking for profit, they sell their weaponry to allied or neutral factions I guess, so that explains how Bretonians or Kusarians can have such technology. Ageira's objective is to make money out of their inventions.
Yeh, but we have a problem here. Ageira truelly dont want to sell their debbies to pirates. Neither to their enemys to be used agianst them, or thier supporters. That mans no debbies for RHeinalnders and non outcast sider pirates (Outcast sdiers have debbies from lane hackers.. well... maybe... Atleast there is some possible rp to own them for outcasts siders)

Ture, Ageira doesn't sell weapons to pirates. But they really sell a lot of weapons and can't help it if they are resold by certain factions. Although they would not be happy to see pirates with Ageira guns, they would not really care about this. As long as the gun-selling-profit would be higher than the losses of -once in a while- being pirated with those same guns, that is.
By the way: Ageira can't help against pirates using their tradelane technology for their outcome either. And would not do so for the above mentioned reasons.
By the way 2: Ageira still supplies Rheinland with needed tradelane-parts (IC at Bonn station), although Liberty is officially at war with Rheinland. Even Bretonia is still supported (BMM-station T23) with them although there have been holdups by the BAF. This should tell a lot about the profit-oriented course of action Ageira carries on.
