Voted no. Battle razors are designed to be used against gunboats and bombers (in a pinch). They just are better on the smaller cruisers, just like any of the anti fighter weaponry.

Also voting no.

I advocate beefing up Gunboat Razors to that speed instead.:P

The fact that cruiser/battleship battle razors do great damage against bombers isn't a mistake/oversight, this is their VERY purpose.

Quote:Battle Razors

Massive railguns for sniping GBs as well as bombers.

characteristics: very high muzzle velocity, medium range, high damage, extremely energy inefficient
strong against: GBs, Cruisers (when in range), Bombers (hard to hit)
weak vs: BS

voted no - and next time, please make a better poll option, not a suggestive one...

anyway - i am still not convinced that a bomber cannot dodge a 800ms weapon with a limited effective range that cannot be sprayed like a primary. - additionally to that, razors are used by ships that are too different to judge on the performance of one - that is why weapons are averagely effective.

here is an example:

the kusari destroyer does very well with a razor - maybe cause its small, maybe cause its almost gunboat like in its agility / turning... however the corsair cruiser, one of the larger ones needs to make use of the very same weapon - it cannot do the same the kusari destroyer does - but still the weapon must remain at least mildly useful. so should we nerf the weapon on the kusari destroyer? ( so they are utterly useless on a corsair cruiser? )

same applies to battleships. - the osiris makes a PERFECT use of flaks and solaris turrets, but on a zoner juggernaut, flaks and solaris turrets simply don t work cause the ship is too large and the camera is too distant. - should we IMPROVE flaks and solaris for the juggernaut? ( so they are deadly on the osiris? ) <--- same logic, turned around.

choices should be :

should the speed of the battlerazor be changed
* yes
* no
* keep it the way it is

faster or slower
* faster
* slower

how fast / slow

* 300 slower
* 250 slower
* 200 slower
* 150 slower
* 100 slower
* 50 slower
* just slower, don t know how much
* voted "keep it the way it is"
* just faster, don t know how fast
* 50 faster
* 100 faster
* 150 faster
* 200 faster
* 250 faster
* 300 faster
* voted keep it as it is

that is a poll that gives voters all the choices - not only the ones you want them to vote. - and such a poll could also turn out not to be in your favour - but the question then is - do we want a majority reflection? or just back a particular opinion up.

then there s the question - what is such a poll for? - when 90% vote that the razor should be 300ms faster... should it be like that?

if 90% vote that it should be 300ms slower - should we do it? - only cause one decision is in favour, the other is not doesn t make a vote more or less valid. - when making a poll that wants to reflect a serious issue, one should also be ready to face whatever consequence there is

most polls here remind me on the election polls in 1933 for the german rheichstag...

it was like

vote [insert dictator here]

YES : O

no : o

I'm afraid its just another case of small Destroyers breaking balance, its not very good on a bret destroyer, unless the target is crazy enough to run right up to you (which it does not need to do).

I just think the Kusari destroyer should be SNable at 1k like other Destroyers, at least from some angle.

But that is usually shot down, I feel bad for factions that have no option but to use bombers for anti cap.

If there's any razor that could use a change - it's the GB one requiring a firepower upgrade.

i don't think the problem is the Battle Razor but more likely the Kusari Dessie. those things seem waaay to hard to hit. they're practically a GB with cruiser offense and defense.

i would stay away from using it as an example in balance discussions as i lean more toward that ship being unbalanced every time i face one.

Pretty much that. I could dodge one thrown from a Bret Destroyer in a Challenger while trying to Supernova it, and succeeding to an extent, and it's not exactly a nimble bomber.

This is my signature.

What kind of testing did you do ingame?

Your argument is invalid.

That was one battle razor hit.
