Just a thought, are you installing it while you have your anti-virus running? It may be causing that problem. Try installing it without it running.

My 2 cents worth...

like the title says, i need something like FAM or a method with which i can run multiple accounts for the multiplayer. The reason is that i have a few idea's i want to try out, but i don't have any spots open for additional accounts. (Reason FAM isn't working see this link).

Also is there anyone who knows how FAM works, cause then i might be able to write a little, more simplistic program like it.

Heh, how about the person who wrote FAM? His name is Korrd, and he's an Admin here.

Give him a PM, I'm sure he'd be willing to help out.

http://www.ascentive.com/support/new/ima...MDLG32.OCX

copy the new version to the same file location. This file should be located in the WINDOWS\SYSTEM\

open start button, go to RUN and type cmd, press enter

then write (or copy paste) this to console: regsvr32 \windows\system32\COMDLG32.OCX

Since we don't need 2 topics about the same thing going, I decided to activate the merry magical merge machine

I'm not a programmer, but I do know this registry information...

Code:
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\1.0]
"MPAccountName"="[AccountString]"
If you run myflaccountid.hta you should find a match between its result and the current value of MPAccountName. All FLAM does is change this registry value to another that is saved in a DAT or ADF file to its own directory. If you have a DAT or ADF file in that directory, open it with a text editor and note the account strings, then replace the above value in the registry, this is all that needs to be done to achieve it. FLAM is simply a front-end that does this automagically. Multiple registry scripts will achieve the same result as FLAM, albeit not as a simple front-end.

As for your issue that prevents it from loading, well I couldn't even get Freelancer online with Vista and that was one of the many reasons I didn't see through the trial period thus I reinstalled XP rather quickly, so I can't really help much on that front. Usually, installing the necessary DLL or OCX files will suffice, but should they already be present then they are either incompatible or corrupt.
