Smuggeling contraband with a Zoner Whale

The zoners are generally considered lawful, but both Zoner Whale i came across today were carring Contraband.
After the first i check my ID, and yes i could have demanded the Contraband, minutes later the next one apeared, also smuggling in the middle of Bretonia.

Ok, i tried to Halt him, but lol, its a zoner whale, and there for about unstoppable, 70 Heavy countermasures make them in-piratable (or lawenforcable).

Well he got away with his crime, and educated me, that i had no idea what i was doing.
I checked the Zoner Guard ID, and found: Cannot participate in ANY Criminal activity.

In short, the Zoner Whale cannot be stopped normaly, The ID forbids smuggling (Smuggeling is a criminal activity, is it not). A Zoner should not be able to carry Contraband in Housespace.

Either the countermasures should be removed from the ship, or smuggling should be sactionable for Zoner ID (in Housspace of cause).



i know its a bit of whining, but i like to hear some imput on this.

While the rules don't say it, anyone who can ship legal goods is allowed to ship illegal goods, so sayeth the Admins. And the ship is hardly unstoppable... And it lacks any weapons, not even a little Bluebell turret to loot wrecks. That's why it's allowed to have a CM.

By such actions it means that you are not to open fire on a lawful vessel.

In other words, no taking your Zoner Juggy into Manhattan to open up on the Durango.

The importance of not employing vague language on infocards/IDs once again rears its ugly head.

Or that's how I will be conducting myself should I ever secure such a vessel.

its agenst server rules to do any thing unleagal whit zoner id. only pirates and sugler can cary contraband and only in pirate train or smaler cargo ships.

Zoner Whale unstoppable? I doubt that - maybe you just used the wrong cd's
and(or you just were too stingy to spam it with enough cd's to stop it.

Also any ship/ID that allowes to trade, of course can also be used
to trade contraband
,

the point on the infocard where it says "cannot participate in any unlawfull..." is just
about that a Zoner cannot ally with unlawfull forces to attack lawfulls.

And I dobt that Zoners can really be considered lawfull, not even neutral, shoot a
bunch of Unioners and you will see the Zoners turn deep red pretty quick.

So next time you "catch" one smuggling and feel the need to make him drop, just
fire enough train- or reenforced-cd's at him an you will make it stop.

A zoner smuggling? No way, did you ask him where is he taking it? might be a zoner base. He might supplying his own kind with goods that some houses see as contraband

edit: you should ask the Zoner whale i stoped a minute ago, you must have not using the right CD or do not know how to pirate my friend.
Making a trader stop requires minimum skills, but still requires some.

no - being disallowed unlawful actions does NOT involve smuggling. - not being a smuggler, you shouldn t really do the smuggling on a too regular base - but thats subjective of course.

then there is also a difference between general contraband ( artifacts, cardamine, slaves, conterfeit software .. ) - and localy considered contraband ( gaian wildlife, military vehicles, etc. )

a zoner can of COURSE carry contraband, even cardamine etc. - but when caught... he should NOT activly defend himself but fully comply with the law ( although a "soft" defensive action is always allowed, - like a bribe... or maybe even a political blackmail / threat )

a smuggler can of course also kill the lawful when being caught and do everything to avoid being caught.

smuggling, hmm, zoners? hmm
when zoner pick uz artifacts in gamma, for corsairs is that not illegal acitivity, but legal , when he is transporting them trough liberty to freeport somewhere, for liberty lawfulls is that illegal, but on zoners on freeport is it legal. so basically it is all about point of wiew.
and last thing, zoners never smuggle, they only support market with profitable goods:)

Yes, i only use traindisrupter, and only fire them at 1.0 per second, so what, even if the whale get disrupted inspite of his Hvy. Counters, he just have to wait 5 seconds, and is cruising again.

Wasn't the deal with smuggling Zoners something along the lines of not sanctionable, but subject to possibly dire RP consequences, anyway?

I seem to remember an admin stating something akin to that.
