As the title describes, I have a problem taking screenshots during game (key "PrtSc"). When I open the images in the image viewer application the Freelancer screenshots are very dark and unusable. I do, however, have good brightness, contrast, and gamma when playing the game. It's as if the PrtSc command doesn't pick up the correct settings.

Any ideas?

Well, if you used a decent picture editor, you could probably increase the gamma on them. It might make them a little clearer. Also, which application are you using and are you sure that it's the screenshots which are the problem, rather than the application?

I would almost say that it's the application that you're opening them with. How about just open them directly with Paint and see what they look like?

Well, he said "image viewer application" which one would assume is Windows Picture and Fax Viewer, as that would make sense. If that IS the case, I doubt it's the application.

Yes, I was referring to Windows Picture and Fax Viewer. Also when I copied images back to Ubuntu (I use Linux as my primary OS) and opened them in GIMP I noticed the same problem - they were all too dark.

Would you like to upload and show us one so we can see what you mean, precisely?

In game everything looks brighter, there are no dark shadows. If I set gamma more than it currently is, it would be too high. Ah well, I guess I'll just have to tweak these screenshots a bit in GIMP.
