' Wrote:If there was a JH to GMG space, that would defeat the entire point of the gate construction site...
Not necessarily. For one thing, they aren't always aligned properly. Plus a gate allows more corporate traffic. Anyway, if it went to the Guard system, the gate would still be needed for groups like Kishiro and anyone who did business with the Guild, right?
' Wrote:So, are you suggesting that a TL and JG's be built through nagano, because there is no way that the three lawful bases that are in Okinawa would exist without those in my opinion.
Tazarus has a point. The last time a GMG convoy went through Nagano, the AFA threatened to destroy us. Kishiro and Interspace should not have to deal with that. Right now it seems it is to the Farmers as Chugoku is to the Blood Dragons. I suppose the GMG could use Honshu hole to get to Okinawa, but as for others... it comes out right next to the GC battleship.
The way I look at it, Okinawa generates much commerce and Nagano does not. Nagano may be a "Kusari" system, but it doesn't have Kusari lawfuls present, does it?
Could have developments in Nagano instead of messing with Okinawa and screwing up the route to it as it would be if it suddenly got cut off from Honshu... Add a nice jump gate development to it from Hokkaido or something to give GC a similar role as FA/Hogosha has in Okinawa, and start some Samura developments there or something if you're so inclined.
I personally like this idea. If Okinawa were closer than Nagano and it had considerable resources, I'd think that Samura would've developed it first...
But, anyway, I enjoy this thought, and it has my full support.

Nagano needs to be populated with more than just one base, but its sad that Kumamoto from 4.84 was removed, it would be a nice addition to this circle of Kusarian Border Worlds. However, Nagano is linked to Tohoku, wouldnt that cause problems with this idea?

I would think that it would not cause a problem. Instead of Nagano being connected to Tohoku, Okinawa would be, this would allow the Dragon research Base that is supposed to be studying nomads can actually do that. The current situation is like having a base in California to study the nomads in Alaska. Also it would help if Order/BD's relations get changed in the future, which I suspect they will.
The only thing i can see about okinawa being changed with nagano would be that it would shy away traders if a direct jumpgate/tradelane route were not available.
If we can find a way to keep people frequenting the area either for trade- then the idea proposed would be an excellent idea..
The only other problem I see is if it still feels "out of the way" for some factions to get there if they must traverse nagano first before entering okinawa.

Ultimately, GMG development requires a jump gate project of some kind.
If we are to 'swap around' the systems, then we should consider swapping the jump gate projects.
Make the established gate/lanes go out to Sigma-19, and the construction site lead to Kusari space (Nagano or Honshu).
The story of Okinawa's discovery and development doesnt have to change - as Kusari explorers could have found Okinawa via Tohoku.
One thing that would also have to change is the Hogosha base in Okinawa. It would now be stuck well out in the boondocks! I would reiterate my suggestion to move it to the Nebula surrounding Planet Hiiran in Honshu - a much more useful position:
1) Actually within Kusari space
2) Corsair ally patrols
3) Greater strategic reach to the Sigmas, Honshu, and Okinawa
With regards to Nagano - the AFA may well attack non-Kusari ships, but as I understand it Nagano is still Kusari space - and has Naval Forces NPC patrols in it. Nagano is not Chugoku - not a secret system for the exclusive use of the AFA and its allies. The AFA should not be attacking any ships they would not normally attack anywhere else in Kusari space.
The Farmers Alliance has been allowed (backed by Samura) to terraform the planet there to create a new breadbasket for Kusari. Ultimately Nagano belongs to the Emperor - not to the peasants. They would do well to remember that...
