Board Member 3: " we could throw more liberators at it"
CEO : "we cant just throw liberators at it, that would get expensive fast. plus, they arnt armed for the job"
Board Member 1: "Well, what would it take to arm them for the job?"
Board Member 2: "Something like a torpedo. or a Mini Razor might do it."
Board Member 4: "But we cant make that stuff mount on a Liberator"
Board Member 3: "Actualy, we might be able to. it would make it a deathtrap however in order to generate enough power..."
CEO : "Any drawbacks?"
Board Member 2: " Funerals are exspensive sir."
CEO : " Well look into the ship and get back to me. we are not gonna spend money on a bomber when we can make something we aready have do the job."
Perhaps you could care to elabourate, instead of just saying "wrong." Because that is not productive at all. It has three guns and a forward facing turret, now. Excuse me for not having flown a Hyena since the update... it's not exactly the most attractive ship. But that doesn't change the fact that it's larger than a VHF. What exactly is inside all that extra space? I don't think it's extra cargo space, armour or power plant.
We had a new pilot in the LR- who by choice decided to fly a Hyena. We all told him he was crazy... and couple days later he was in a Werewolf... I think he may be in a Scimitar now, though.
On subject, converting the Liberator to mount a MR is just silly, no matter how many guns you remove. I would like to see the LPI with their own bomber, though. Seriously, the Havok suits them more than the Upholder, and that's a big stretch.
I'm tired of LPI getting LN hand-me-downs. I'm also tired of getting ganged up on by dishonorable pirates, who think that killing a Liberator is some sort of accomplishment.
Great, you got us! You win. Why not give us a ship that is equal to the responsibility we have. If we were allowed to patrol in Eagles or Rocs that would be one thing. But even then, all we would be is LN lite.
What's wrong with getting a ship that can actually put up a fight? You all should try to be an LPI officer for one month. If you have, you would know that it's no fun getting caught in a 3 on 1, no matter what ship you're flying. The LPI's duties have been to enforce the embargo in Texas, fight off Keepers, Pirates and others who are drawn to Liberty like a magnet.
The other day, I was fighting off eight LR, with one LSF agent. In my Libby. And you want to keep our ships toned down?
What kind of losers are you? Most of you don't even try to rp. I got shot and killed by some idiot gb with no warning at all three days ago. Some doof named Polaris. And I was already under attack by someone else.
Yeah, go ahead and have your fun. It will just make LPI stronger. We will prevail. We already are, despite you all.
I honestly don't see the problem with Police flying Navy bombers. And yes, I play a police character (not Liberty police though) and I have an LSF. I've been on the receiving end of massive Keeper/Outcast/indy combined attacks before.
Even with these being a common occurrence, it doesn't mean that LPI needs a dedicated bomber or better ships.
Being an in-RP police player sucks. There, I said it. You've got pirates in bombers and gunboats laughing at you, smugglers in huge freighters laughing at you, silent powertraders ignoring you, and indy Zoners going "I'm neutral! I don't care about your laws!"
It's all enough to make you want to fly a super-ship with a super-CD that does a million shield and hull damage, or have a .kill command. There's a reason missilewhores exist, and some of them, I suspect, are frustrated police players that are sick and tired of light fighters sucking so much and not being able to kill anything without having to get two haircuts before the end of the battle.
So what's the point of this rant?
When you see a police player in a light fighter, RP with them. I realize this is hard for all you players out there which only care about those blue kill messages, or saying "lolololol u cant kill me!!!" while powertrading cardi to NY, or being like "I don't care, destroy my ship, I won't pay" but honestly people, this is the Discovery RP server.
Then again, what does my opinion matter? I'm all for bringing in Navy battlefleets to utterly annihilate criminals sitting above Manhattan after all... (God help me if I hear one more player complaining about getting jumped by government capital ships in a home system)
