Alright I'll take the Fury 5s.

And about the missile, no I don't need it. Just asking if it would be a better choice.

But if it's enough to keep most enemies off with 4 Fury 5s and 2 Imp. Debilitators then that's what I'm going to take.

' Wrote:Vampires are IMG weapons, and the IMG is a faction in and of itself. Unless you're working for them, that really shouldn't be a first option. Fury 5s are excellent, in any case.

Anyways, Cannonball deals heavy damage, but is a little slow on tracking. Sidewinder does noticeably less, but is very maneuverable and hard to dodge. Both are good choices.

And why not? The IMG is the most notable ship and weapons dealer to Mercenaries in all of Sirius. The Raven's Talon is an IMG ship, after all.

Not that Fury 5s are bad... I use them on my Merc.

So even I would buy Vampire 4s I could stay as neutral towards everyone? Even the IMG?

I'll take the one that fits better in roleplay matters. That would be Vampire 4s?

And would 4 Fury 5s or 4 Vampire 4s with 2 Imp. Deblitators enough?

If you have good aim. In the end, it doesn't matter what guns you use. If they're class 9s, or even class 8s, someone can kill with them.

It should be enough, but will be a tough learning curve. Always is...

If you only intend to fight LFs to VHFs, I actually recommend the Mosquito to knock them out of engine kill. It's faster and much more accurate, but if you want to do anything else with that CD, such as actually stop larger ships from escaping... Get a Train CD.

But the lesson to be learned here is everyone has different ideas on what a good loadout is.

Seeing as the fact that you've mentioned that you haven't been here long, and that you don't even have the ship yet, I'd get the ship and try a few different loadouts. Whatever you feel most comfortable with(and is RP kosher) is the one you should stick to.

Note to All: Just don't mount Fury 4's... I don't know why they haven't been removed/fixed, but they're Class 9 guns that only do 2/3 of the damage of a Fury 5(also class 9).

The IMG has enemies, and has their own equipment and ships. The old Raven's Talon infocard states that it "was designed by Independent Miners Guild for commercial purposes." Commercial means it was built as a ship to sell, and it even mentions that it's "available for pirates and mercenaries". But then again, the Raven's Talon doesn't even say IMG in its title, in comparison to the Nyx and others. The Nyx and others are overtly IMG, as are their weapons, so why would they be free for all to use? The GMG; the IMG's closest comparison; doesn't freely hand out Skyblasts and Kaichous. Why would the IMG? Especially with the kind of infocards that you see on the Nyx?

Anyways, straying here. I'd suggest you play with Starkillers and Sunslayer torps if you fancy some heavy, but risky, damage dealers. Experimentation is key, as Elgato said. Find what you're good with, and what you have fun with, and use it.

Well, to answer your question, I cite the infocard for the RT...

The Raven's Talon is one of the Independent Miners Guild's most popular ships, and despite having been on the open market for quite some time, this ship remains the first choice for many pilots.
As you can see, the infocards for the ships were mainly written and rewritten by players who have taken a degree of creative license with the content. The infocards with guns, on the other hand, follow a more strict and "laid-out" structure that looks like this:

Weapon Technology Type(Tachyon, Photon, Pulse, etc...)
Pros and Cons(This weapon is most effective against molecular shields, and weakest against positron shields...)
General attributes to faction(Liberty Rogue weapons do a little more damage, but use more energy...)
Respective power of weaponry(Best Neutron Cannon the Corsairs have to offer...)

So, right off the bat, I can come up with...

Quote:Failcannon

This is a fail-based weapon that has the shortest range of all energy-based weapons, but requires enormous amounts of stupidity to fire. This weapon is most effective against win shields, and weakest against fail shields. 4chan weapons are more energy efficient, but sacrifice damage output. This is the best Fail Cannon the 4chan has to offer.
You do have a point. But the thing is, there is no weapon infocard that states anything else besides the fact that it is overtly aligned to the faction that produces it.

Find me a fighter gun infocard that deviates from that layout, and your argument about why the IMG guns should not be freely used due to the similarity of their infocard to the Nyx's will work better.

The most important part is coming up with the credible RP that allows you to own these guns, regardless of how you came to possess them. Remember: RP first, then get the guns. Don't RP so that you can have a certain pair of guns. The RP does not need to happen on the forums. It just needs to be recorded in some form or way.

I'm not sure your point, since if all gun infocards do not overtly say only certain factions can use them, that means you really can equip any gun you want.

Fact is, he's making a neutral mercenary with a ship that is open market. Zoner and civilian guns are neutral. IMG guns are not, since the IMG has enemies.

I'll try to create a loadout that suits me best, based on your replies.

Thanks a lot.

If I'm not late yet.

I have a FL Raven's Talon, carrying

1 Adv. Debiliator - Disables downed shields again. Makes to spend energy slower compared to Imp. Debiliator
1 Cannonball Missile - Helps a lot to destroy hull
4 Prometheus - Secondary Gun Force
Mini Razor - Primary Gun Force. Good hull damage to fighters, sometimes a clear Cannonball hit + MR ends the fight.
Ripper Mine - I can't really use nukes, so I use Rippers since they hit more and still deliver quite a punch.
Enh. CM - Best fighter choice for that slot.
