It doesn't make sense for me having a very small ships wielding a powerfull weapon. Its already annoying with its speed and size, why make it powerfull aswell?
I like how I'm on the top of that list. Am I scary?
I vote yes for a slower, 2gunned, Liberazor.

I dont think its considered a fleet anymore when at almost any given time i can point out to you a gunship in new york. Id almost say there are more pirate gunships in new york than fighters, but what do i know, im just a lowly officer.

While I do not agree with the propsed Liberator, such idiocy gives me no choice but to step in, coated in a healthy layer of gasoline. How is that relevant at all to the Skype quote? They're still ridiculously outgunned and outnumbered. It does not need to come down to buffing lawdogs ridiculously, but rather some common sense and courtesy amongst fellow players. Two, three Navy pilots cannot mow down a dozen pirates without ridiculous skill/firepower differences, so I fail to see how 'The navy exists for that reason.' has anything whatsoever to do with his point.
Kurios, this is not going to happen. I advise you PM a forum mod nicely and ask for a lock before this gets another dose of flammables.
This happens to be me, you know. I don't believe smuggling the way it was intended (or I intend it), without any trade lanes, through only Jump Holes, and RPing with any and all people I see within scanner range (not many). I don't believe I'm being obtrusive or a hardcore pwnzor in that ship...
If you think you need something other than SWAT Havoks and Eagles because others don't want to RP, then I believe you're doing your faction and the entire server a detriment. I might be Police Commissioner in Bretonia, however, I do believe the trial of an unarmed Hussar has taught me a lot about Roleplaying and what exactly setting a good example does do to the server.
No matter what people do to you, is it really worth lessening your RP for it? Teach them a lesson. If people decide that all they want to do is PvP whore, then teach them you're a match no matter your ship. Run away when the odds are against you. The Liberator is, if not the, one of the fastest Light Fighters around. With those new Magma Hammers, you should be able to give any fighter a run for its money.
I don't believe the LPI to carry anymore responsibility than any other faction. You hold just as much authority in Liberty as the BPA does in Bretonia, the KSP in Kusari, and the RFP in Rheinland, though, we all do run ourselves differently. The only difference between us is that you have more people to deal with because of Liberty's proximity to the starting location. No matter the amount of people, though, you still have the same responsibility to hold yourselves to a higher standard of RP. That is the only responsibility you have to the rest of us, along with the responsibility you hold to yourself to have fun on the server. If either of those are being neglected, I do believe a small break from your point of contention is required, for your own sake.
And, yes, by the way, I am a developer. Thank you. It's not unreasonable to speak for new equipment, however, a Liberator with a mini razor is something just asking for abuse. I was expressing my astonishment, however, I do believe I did it in a rude way. My apologies for that.
EDIT: Jake, we both know Police are created for internal social problems, and Navy for military problems. In the effect of a pirate invasion, the Police acts as a militia, though still under its own authority, however, getting yourself into these situations is not the most prudent course of action, if you know you're outmatched. There are such things as stations, which should shoot at pirates and do loads of damage, and even to smugglers if you can detain them long enough so the NPCs can scan then, and if the stations don't fire at pirates, this is what the rule violation forum is for. You don't HAVE to fight everyone.
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.

agreed, and if anyone in either a fighter or a bomber wishes to go at it with me, i am willing to take you on. The issue however isnt fighters and bombers, its all these bloody gunships we deal with.
And, unfortunately, the recent spike of destroyers too.
I've seen at least three in the past two days. Not gonna name names.
It's impossible when there's a single Liberator and a single bomber to try and fight them off.

I had no intention of that being a flame. I just have a problem with wording my thoughts in a non-hostile way, sorry. >.>
I agree about gunboats, only times we've taken them down is with BAF help, using our version of swat, or hussar swarm.
I sympathize with the Liberty police's lolcapswarm problem, but I have to say that I do not support them getting a special police bomber, without the same thing for all the other house police forces.
In situations when there is a large force of hostile capital ships in the system, the in-RP solution would be to call in a Navy battlegroup and completely pwnzor those silly unlawfuls. In the server, this is represented by the police calling for navy players to help, and the Navy showing up in bombers and capital ships.
What would be nice is a "call for reinforcements" command that spawned a cruiser patrol at the closest lawful planet/station. That would represent the police calling the Navy in to help. I have no idea how this should be implemented or used though.
Honestly though, when the capswarm shows up and the two lawful players currently online (wisely) dock for safety, it wouldn't be so bad if the unlawfuls weren't spamming system chat with "Haha lawdog cowards!" and "Why don't you come out here and fight us?" and "Don't you have any honor?" Really people, what do you expect? The pirates aren't accomplishing anything because they've scared all the traders away, so the only result is a bunch of unlawfuls spamming chat messages to themselves, then eventually getting bored and leaving. Not a very fulfilling play session, is it? And what if I RPed that a battleship strike group was en-route and about to wipe the floor with them? Their response would be (and I would be on this) "What battleships? I don't see any battleships, do you? Nope, no battleships!"
Here's a good rule of RPing: whatever the other person wants to do, say "yes, and..." instead of "no." A "no" kills RP, while a "yes, and..." expands and continues RP.
