Order VHF Debate

As most of you undoubtedly know, there are two Order VHFs: The Bastet and the Nephthys. Ive been thinking over a lingering question for a while now: which one is better?

The Bastet sells for less than the Nephthys, so the intial reaction is that the latter is the better. However, I think that the Bastet handles slightly better than the Nephthys (been a while since I flew that one).

Statistically speaking, the Bastet turns better and supports more burst firepower if you have some codes (six class 10 slots, but limited to two Nomad guns). The Nephthys, on the other hand, has a much heavier powerplant, making it easier to maintain sustained fire, and has more armor to make up for the poorer turning.

As far as I can tell, it's not as much a matter of which is better as it is a matter of which you're better with. They're different ships.

Hard to say which one is better.Depends which fits you better.
I fly Nephtys because of bigger powerplant,yes I miss a lot so I need energy to compenzate.
Bastet is better for so called "shotgun" effect.You put all weapon 10 class guns(codies) with max damage that is avaliable in game and you can shoot for few seconds with it delivering maximun damage in short time.
Good aiming is required.Also bastet is a bit more agile with less armor.

Im a fan of the bastet. Most bastets have loads of missiles due to the fact it can equip 6 sidewinders if it wants to.

I use 4 class 10s, (2 nomad, 2 codenames) and 2 missiles (paralyzer and sidewinder). Works quite well.

Bastet I prefer because of its agility. With the agility, you can outmanuever most of the attacks and survive more.

They're different types of ship.

I fly the Nepthys, though. I find I am good enough to dodge very effectively in it, and I absolutely love the big powercore.
I am primarily a razor man, you see.
The Nepthys allows me to fire 4 razors in sequence..

Note: Died only once in my Nep so far, and it was by Nomad Morph spam. Just 3, well, not spam, but still, a tough cookie to beat in a slow ship.
That's the Nep's only flaw, two LFs can devastate it if they play their cards right.

Better... I don't think one is better, Bastet simply have more agility, while sacrificing a bit of power and armor, Neph on the other hand is tough with big powerplant, while being a bit slower...

It's really up to your style and liking, both can be " the better one".

I gone from Neph to Bastet to Neph again ...
Bastet same size as Neph little more agile but it makes no difference to me ... so i gone back to Neph for more armor and bigger power core ...
On Bastet i had 4 codes and 2 nomad guns ... it drains power quick ... if i make all hits count it hurts very much ... but i had razor too ... so i had to choose try razor (mostly miss) lose energy or shoot target with guns drains much energy too ... i was always short of it ...

and Neph have turret that shoots forward and Bastet have useless turret ... so 1+ gun for Neph

My recommendation for a Nepthys:

4 Reapers. (Due to 600 speed).
Two Nomad Cannons(The Order-allowed variety sold in Omicron-100]
Razor.

Congratulations. You are now God.

I have flown them both in SP before and the only thing that I could find as a bad difference is that the Baset looks better.
