My LR GB has, get this.... 2 PULSE CANNONS LOLOLOL and 4 Cerberus turrets. Let me say that the first fight I got into, the bomber was ripped to shreds. It is a great setup. I mostly use this ship for pirating, and the few shots I took at a fleeing trader (being covered by said bomber) seemed to have good results.
And the setup on that Zoner GB looks decent, though the big problem would be energy use. Dunno what the Zoner GB's powerplant is like, but I'm imagining it's weaker than most other gunboat's powerplants.
The best setup on my gunboats is very simple:
1xBattle Razor and all else is Normal Turrets.
For example:Outcast gunship-1x BR 7x Outcast Gunboat Turrets.(The OC GS has 6 Forward firing turrets.)
It's work well for me,you can take both enemy gunboats,and bombers.
But for zoner gunboat...I would really go for 2 pulse and 2 Razors.
On my LR GB i have 4 outcast turrets and 2 missile turrets. Should i change one of the missile turrets with something else, or the others? I'm trying to stay focused on anti-fighter/bomber GB.
it is one of the larger gunboats - but has the smallest powercore
it is the single most agile gunboat but suffers from its size
it "only" has 4 turrets - but you shouldn t underestimate the twin mine launcher ( which can turn even enemy warship shields to nothingness quickly - when you drop dual EMP mines ) - also ... if you like to defend against fighters or bombers - it can very quickly lay a minefield of nuke mines thick enough to even get an agile bomber into serious trouble ( no one likes to fly in an area where one train CD can pulverize all your armour )
the turrets are placed quite far from each other - so the aiming isn t too easy.
It may only have 4 turrets , but i if all you want from the ship is enough to be able to pirate , i can say that it does the job nicelly. Just today i blasted a trader who refused to pay in seconds , and without using mines. But probably my loadout was the reason. I can see the mines comming in usefull against larger targets though. 2 Nuke mines mean a 34k hull spike damage. That aint something to mess with!:P
