Can't create a character

:angry:I've done everything right (didn't changed any default options) and when I connect to the server to create a chracter, doesn't matter if i've already type 300 diferent names it always give me the same message:

"I'm sorry, but the character name you selected is already in use on this server. Please choose a new name and try again." :angry:

What could be ?

Hmm....This is perhaps the third or fourth person with this problem...

I wonder if it has to do with Cannon's new movechar command.

all in all the conclusion is that disco doesn't need antagonist factions, it doesn't need phantoms, it doesn't need nomads, it doesn't need coalition and it doesn't need many other things, no AIs, the game is hijacked by morons to confuse the game with their dickwaving generic competition games mixed up with troll-of-the-day.

I think there is a miscommunication here. You have downloaded and activated the most recent Disco Mod, right?

EDIT: smack me for using shorthand in a help thread....I mean Discovery Mod...not like Disco as in a char name.

I'm guessing you've changed one or two of the default settings when installing the mod. Several critical settings in your installation have to match the server settings. If they don't, then you can't create new characters. Unfortunately I can't remember at the moment which settings matter.

My recommendation is to deactivate and then (re)activate the mod and change none of the settings.

One of these days, I'll fix up the server so that this can't happen.
