Dancing text

The text is just buzzing around the screen for some reason. It won't display correctly I tried installing the fonts that come with the disc (.IMG) no effect. I'm gonna restart my computer and see if that helps.

I'm on a laptop with windows vista trying out 4.85 beta 6 (I think).

Here's ascreenshot of what's going on. I reinstalled it and the problem s still there. Is there something I need to adjust with my video card or on vista itself?

Solution:
1. Put all important files on disks, then install Windows XP.

2. Reinstall freelancer.

3. ????

4. Profit!

But seriously, problems like this have happened to people before. Forum search: "Screen Artifacts" or something.

Okay, I've calmed down. What have you changed since this happened? Or has this never worked? Think hard, anything could have done this (not really, but we need something to go off of). Any crashes lately? Any other games effected? Try updating DirectX and Video Drivers. That's all I can think of for now.

This is the first time I'm ever installing FL on this computer (which isn't mine I'll try that next weekend though.

Hang on....if its on Vista, you need to right click on the Updater/Desktop shortcut and "Run as admin" it should sort it, i had this problem but not as bad as that!
