When new operating system/hardware doesn't run FL any more then it will die.

While it is true that once it can't be supported, it will die, but the good thing is that it won't be happening for a LONG time. Microsoft designs their operating systems so that it can run many old applications. For example, business programs that were used like 20 years ago still work on newer versions of Windows. Therefore, I can see Freelancer being alive for many years to come.

Carlos Rivera: Corsair Brotherhood Pirate - Retired, shifted to Tripoli Shipyard's Research and Development engineering teams
Anthony Cameron: Guild Core Bounty Hunter - Killed in Action, committed suicide after being trapped in Omicron Minor following its destruction
Juan Ruiz: Outcast Ghost of Razgriz Pirate - Killed in Action, killed by the Sirius Coalition Revolutionary Army during Bretonian piracy raid
Michael Winchester: Liberty Security Force Agent - Missing in Action, likely killed during Rheinland espionage mission or trapped in Rheinland Space
Eric McCormick: Order Pilot - Retired, shifted to planetside training of new recruits

Liberty and Nomad Backstory, Very interesting - read it!

Just enjoy the ride when you can.

I bet you look at the glass as half empty . . . :)

But as you say, enjoy the game. . . Be a proactive member, and remember this, to all those who think the glass is half empty . . .

. . . What is old will become new again . . .

This game and this mod is better than ever . . :yahoo:

Nope, I look at it as 50% capacity.

Not a pessimist, but a realist.

Pfft, the glass is full, 50% with water, 50% with air...

...also, ima keep running FL on my laptop 'till it dies a permanent death of doom (may happen sonner than you might think-this thing is ooooold)...

...while people still play, mods will still evolve...even if it's just one, hardcore guy in a basement, coding it for himself...
