[color=red]Welcome to Discovery UK RP 24/7!

This is the official thread of the UK RP server. Just some information for those of you that are interested.

We have 200 player slots, running on a Dual Core 3.5Ghz (good enough for 160 players - but there is a Quad core server sitting around doing nothing;)).

All the rules for RP are the same as they are on the GC server - so if you play here and at UK - you won't have to remember different sets of rules:P

We do have a website and forums, and recommend that you register to get the full RP experience. There are many nice additions to the forums, including some more stuff that we are working on - including a "buddies" system.

We are also going to get working on an RP-based broadcasting service (like internet radio) for Sirius! We might get it running just to see how it works out:PI am also setting up a voice communications server, which can be used for in-game voice chat.

We currently have an admin team of three - who all have experience with past servers (including popular Discovery 4.84 servers).

Yesterday I made first char on this server. I am far more closer to UK than to USA server, and a ping is better. But the server is lagging me much. I can not shoot NPCs because they are jumping like crazy frogs.
On USA server I can play normal, even the ping is twice higher.
Maybe my net has better connection to USA, or server is more powerful and has better net connection.
Maybe it is only matter of server adjustment.

Thanks for trying it out. If you tried it before 00:30AM GMT time (UK), then yes, it was running on an old server. I refurbished the new server (it now runs on a Dual Core @ 2.2Ghz, whereas yesterday it was on an AMD Athlon XP (Single Core @ 1.67Ghz) - so there should be a massive performance difference.

Much better performance now - 10 players and serverload varies between 3-8ms (depending on how many players spawn).

I made a character, met some friendly people, it was nice. Much smaller obviously, but that was nice in a way, felt more homely. Also I got to mine Helium for the first time, Woo Hoo!
