I really can't tell what effect you're going for. Is it supposed to be like a painting? I don't really understand how that fits with anything in Freelancer. The ripple filter pixelated the background pretty badly.

Decent attempt. Could use a bit more flavour, but I can't say I'm much better at making sigs meself, though...:$

Good try, but you need general idea to make something that has sense. Lots of ripples are nice and effective, but overall they say nothing.

i like it when most parts of a signature have a meaning. - that doesn t at all mean that a sig needs to be cramped or stuffed up with "things" - it means that there are a few things to consider...

- firstly the proportions - spaces, golden cut proportion, detailes
- then the colours - colours are the first things to determine a meaning of an image. - if you go for cold colours, you re more likely to describe straight and chilly emotions - when you go for hot colours, a sig tends to look more aggressive, more exciting
- then there s the fact how things blend into one another. - most sigs are a composition of three parts:
-- a character
-- a characters ship
-- a background

- you need to decide how to set up your sig. - like a story, like a computer terminal, like an advertisement, like a technical readout etc.

now about your sig.

i think the rippled background says nothing much - so its a bit unnecessary. - it is not really related to a generic freelancer background ( random starsphere ) nor a localized setting ( like describing what faction you re from ) - its also not describing a base topic ( like in my case - a circuit that is the bases for the rechnical showcase topic i chose )

colouring is well done. - mostly cold colours and dyes - and the render fits in. - along with the cold colours and the associated tranquility of them, i would have expected a smoother way ( like some velvet waves / ripples instead of this rather nervous sprinkle effect )

but its good - and .... working with photoshop is fun. - working on a sig is fun... having a sig isn t half as much fun.
