Kuraine's ID List Wrote:Interspace Neuralnet Division ID
Pilot carrying this ID is employed by Interspace Commerce's neuralnet division, who:
* Can trade and escort traders
* Can hunt pirates and terrorists within Liberty, or within systems where Interspace has a base, or in self-defense, or to protect another trader.
* Can land on unlawful bases
* Cannot hunt : Golden Chrysanthemums, Red Hessians, or Unioners
* Cannot ally with any unlawfuls
* Cannot participate in any unlawful actions except smuggling contraband
* Cannot fulfill bounty contracts
* Cannot use transports that have more than 4700 cargo
Allowed ships: Fighters, Bombers, Freighters, Transports, Liners
Carrying unmounted IDs in your ship, as well as not equipping an ID, is a serious crime. Using player faction IDs is not allowed for players who are not members of the IND faction and for players who were expelled from the IND.
My query is about this line:
Quote: * Can land on unlawful bases
What does this exactly mean? Can IND land on unlawful bases (as in, pirates)? Does this include guard factions? Can IND land on gallic lawful bases (who are unlawful to sirius)?
Unless you're a Junker, you are unlawful in Gallia. Seeing as the IND had no hand in anyone's pocket in Gallia, I don't believe they can land there.
As to pirate bases, the IND have their hands in everyone's pockets (Outside Kusari and Gallia, anyway. More so in the latter than the former), I believe. They have rights to land at most places because they supply them with capital and/or equipment. It's more of an entangled RP than Kusari's, I think...
[8:32:45 PM] Dusty Lens: Oh no, let me get that. Hello? Oh it's my grandma. She says to be roleplay.
[12:49:19 AM] Elgatodiablo: You know its nice that you have all that proof and all, Bacon... but I just don't believe you.
Technically yes, we can land anywhere. But within the limits of the RP and the spirit in which the ID was intended no. Outcast, Corsair definitely. Everything except Hacker if we're invited. Hacker definitely not. Any IND pilot would get his nuts hacked off if he landed on a Hacker base.
We've not made any inroads to Gallia yet. so docking rights will have to be negotiated.
In short By rules yes, by faction RP no. And it's faction RP we stick to.
As for liners, each member of the IND is unique. The rank structure is unique, Jay Simon is at the top and the rest of us mill around under him. Because of that it entirely depends on the RP of the character and how he develops it as to what ship he flies. JakeSg's guy got an inheritance from his really hateful uncle, bought a liner, filled it with cheap women and cheaper booze and then used what was left of his hold to trade. Surprisingly JakeSG is one of the poorer members of the IND
My character likes to go looking for things whilst trading and as a result spends a lot of time in the sky, recently, ergo i make lots of money. But I have a Shire. Lovely.
In short the IND is not about moveing from A to B and making money it's about going from A to B and stopping for an hour to chat to folks before moveing to C where, because of that stop we're now making the same kind of money per second you'd expect to see from moving something from manhattan to Trenton. Because of that RP liners shouldn't be left off our list of allowed ships.
Saint Del is considered a holy healer of diseases of children, but also as a protector of cattle.
I didn't say they'd be successful. If we want to dock on gallic bases other than pro-reunion factioons, we're really really reallt going to have to work for it. As we worked for landing on OC bases and Corsair bases.
At this time however we don't really care, there's plenty enough trade routes in regular Sirius to keep any cash mad IND madman going for a long while yet.
Basically, we can, but RP will determine where we do. And the obviously unlikely ones are likely to remain unlikely. If you get my drift.

Another question - not really related to the IND ID, but while you're here: does any of the IND faction roleplay lay a precedent for Interspace faction RP in general? For example, the friendlier relationships with pirates. Are Interspace still following vanilla RP (largest bounty placer in sirius, enemy of most pirates) while IND follow their respective RP?
The IND are not Interspace, that needs to be made clear. When the IND were formed, they were the Independant Traders. Obviously, when the new faction rules came in they couldn't have it, and so Dusty transformed them into the Interspace Neural Net Division.
Basically, the IND have a long standing RP they stick to, and the ID and other things were created to adhere to new server rules, nothing more. For example, the Bretonian Privateers pirate, but to adhere to Server rules they have a BAF tag. I think that makes sense...
Anyway, I have a Liner, and I have great fun having the children hijack it. We have an RP we stick to, and we don't set precedent for the Interspace faction.
I don't think it makes much sense, sorry. If IND are independent traders, then shouldn't they be using the following: Independent Trader ID?
From reading the IND (Interspace Neutral Net Division) faction status post then it seems the IND are Interspace, not Independent Traders.
Quote:NPC allignment: Interspace Commerce
If they're aligned with Interspace, doesn't that mean they set precedents for the rest of the Interspace faction? Just as the [LN] sets precedents for the Liberty Navy npc faction.

They USED to be.
And, server rules say you must be alligned to an NPC faction, that is why. The IND is a wing of Interspace. Like (again) the Bretonians. THe Privateers and the regular Armed Forces are totally different.
